We thoroughly enjoyed our food, as well as, the outstanding service. Nice hip place with a great brunch. The atmosphere was very comfortable and I always love an open kitchen. Started off with a spicy Bloody Mary, which was amazing. Enjoyed the house made pickle in it too. The brunch menu really offered a wide variety, which made my decision very difficult because it all sounded so good. I narrowed it down to the cured oro salmon, frittata, and lemon soufflé pancakes and had the server pick one and surprise me. My husband ordered the vanilla mascarpone French toast and a side of the house smoked bacon and our server surprised me with the cured salmon. It was all delicious and I mean every last bite! I wish I lived near by so I could work my way through the menu. The French toast with the brûlée bananas and creme anglaise was a perfect brunch entree. The flavors were fantastic together. The bagel that was served with the salmon tasted like it was just made. The salmon was so fresh and tasty and the side of egg salad was the perfect compliment. I created a bagel loaded with cream cheese, salmon, tomatoes, onions and capers that was absolutely top notch. It was a masterpiece and I cleaned my plate. I can honestly say if you haven’t been, you need to go. What a great find with delicious food and awesome service. We decided to eat inside, but there is a nice patio area to enjoy eating outside. Highly recommend. Thank you 9kathyf! We appreciate your detailed review and support of fire. We hope to see you again.

I had dinner while staying at the Doubletree overnight. Walked in to find several 50-ish white businessmen and one African-American female bartender / doing double duty as a server, and her African-American female friend. The friend had connected her phone to the PA system of the bar and was playing it loud. I guess they felt that "Play that Funky Music White Boy", and "Get Down On It" were better than whatever the Hilton felt were good dinner selections. I ordered a Salmon Barigoule with Root Vegetables. For those unaware Barigoule sauce is supposed to be a light creamy reduction of chicken broth and white wine, typically with artichokes in it. What I was served was a rather nice salmon filet that had been broiled, which was then set upon some overcooked celery stalks, a couple small onion pieces and three pieces of artichokes along with five thick lemon slices, in a bowl of warm lemon water. Yuck! Clue to the cook - "root vegetables" are things like parsnips, carrots, celery root and so on. Celery is NOT a root vegetable. If you decide on the salmon ask that it be served without the lemon water, perhaps on some rice or noodles. I also asked for a side of "roasted mixed root vegetables". What was served looked roasted but was barely warmed. We are talking salad bar al dente. There were some large asparagus spears added to the barely warmed carrots that were so fibrous as to inedible. Bad choice. Hey cooks - please cook the food. Thanks. There was no roll or bread served with this $30 meal. At least the server was enjoying the music. There are lots of restaurants nearby. I'd suggest going to one of those rather than wasting your money on overprices poorly prepared food here.
