Thanks Sabrina & Jose for a memorable lunch . We arrived like drowned rats and food was immediately placed before us. As Australians with little Spanish it was wonderful to be talked through the menu by hosts fluent in English & Italian too.The Rioja wines were explained to us and a comparison taster provided. We were encouraged to choose the local pulpo -with the whole octopus brought out for us to appreciate . This dish was fully explained to us as were our other choices. Butter on request was provided for our bread - Aussies abroad!! When we elected to follow up with coffees and fruit tea we were treated to wonderful mugs of latte and London teas of our choice. Jose then produced many liquers for us to try We bought a bottle of crema de arroz con leche to take which was duly gift wrapped. In the meantime we were treated to a tasting of a sweeter bread brought by the baker who was present. Jose also showed us & explained his locally sourced chorizo. We left happy in spirit and mind thanks to these wonderful hosts and their generous nature. DONT MISS OUT ON A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY GOOD FOOD & COMPANY.

Galician Food Market
After a day of walking the Camino, we decided to have a nice meal and found this restaurant to be highly recommended on TripAdvisor as well as on the Michelin guide.Chef Henrique is basically the cook, the waiter, the receptionist, the sommelier, etc. He does it all ! And he does it with so much passion and gusto !The food - to die for. We ordered almost all of the main dishes on the menu and shared them including 2 desserts. Each and every single one - so unique and unusual and yet has a robust homecooked feel. After dinner, chef walked us out and even called a taxi for us (he really does it all !).If you ever come to Padron - don't miss eating here.

An incredible gastronomic experience. Must admit that we were delighted to have tasted such refined dishes that combine the beauty of harmony for the eyes with the beauty of a delightful taste. Freshest finest produce turned into the most unexpectedly well orchestrated blends

Pampin Bar was recommended by our accommodation in Santiago. It is a remarkably good restaurant. From the outside and its location down a bit of an alleyway, we were expecting a kind of hipster popular bar spot, but it's in reality a cozy, intimate restaurant with food at an incredible value. We ordered in Spanish, but they speak and have menus in English. We had a good empanada with tuna, excellent mussels (on the short list for the best I've ever had), an outstanding Spanish take on pâté (all the richness of the best French, with Spanish spicing choices), and beautifully prepared beef round with oven-cooked potatoes and onions.Every course seemed to exceed the previous one, and our bill, with a bottle of wine and cheese course for dessert too, came in at well below what we would have paid in any other city -- and even many other restaurants in Santiago. Go! Go now!

This was a pleasant place for a drink at the bar and a selection of tapa's they can provide for people who visit for just a drink. Service was friendly and the food well presented and good quality. An enjoyable place. Like most places it opens at 9.00 PM but the bar starts at 8.00 PM.This is a small placed and you need to book.

Based on my own experience, Itâs a wonderful place to enjoy eating fresh fish and seafood. Good environment, fantastic service. We went the last weekend and enjoyed very much tasting the variegated scallops, razor shells and Martiño . Highly recommended. Weâll come back.

I get so excited when I tell people about this place. The journey to it, its location and the wonderful host, food, music and wine that awaits is extraordinary. Some of us travelled by motorcycle from SE France and the UK and were recommended to try Mar de Ardora by a girl in Pamplona. When we arrived we were immediately made to feel welcome by the Galician owner and chef who had worked for many years in London. He made me scrambled eggs with scallops and melba toast which were divine on the terrace with a glass of local white wine. I followed that with some locally caught fish cooked in the Gallega style (slow baked with tomatoes). I was unable to return this last time but some friends left me in Oviedo and continued to the Costa del Muerte including this place. They were not disappointed!

Traditional and creative galician cuisine. We invite you to join us on a unique journey through the flavors, aromas and textures of our land. A young and innovative gastronomic experience, born in the heart of Compostela, which brings to our days, the aut
I had dinner there last night after reading good reviews. Couldnât get in the night before but last night it wasnât busy at all. Had tomato salad which they are famous for, and even though I ordered a starter portion it was enormous and I could only eat a half portion. Tasty enough if you like tomatoes! For main course I had hake, Muros style. It looked beautiful on a bed of sliced potatoes, but in true Galician style it was way over salted. I donât know why they use so much salt. Itâs overpowering and you canât taste the fish at all!Maybe another dish would be less salty....

Cocina de aldea e mercado
The restaurant is in an unassuming spot a mile or so outside Noia - easy to miss (look out for the café/tabaco next door). We visited for lunch twice, and both times were the first to eat, despite it being nearly 2pm! We are out at the back, under cover but in the very pretty garden. The menu is small, and you might need to spend a bit of time translating it! Highlights for us were the sardines (served simply, dressed with oil and balsamic, and a few tomatoes), and the octopus (served on a purée of vegetables). All dishes came with very good warm bread rolls. The house Albariño is excellent, and less than â¬2 a glass. A few small dishes shared between the 4 of us were plenty. The kids enjoyed the three chocolate mousse dessert. Service very good - friendly and helpful, from both the waiter and the lady chef who came out to check things were going well. â¬63 for 4 of us, including drinks. We returned two days later, with grandparents this time, and added two bottles of wine and slightly more expensive main dishes (also to share), and the total was a very reasonable â¬150.

Organic food, home-grown, farm eels and farm
Pleasantly surprised by this new restaurant (or, as better described âexperienceâ)⦠O Balado is certainly secluded but it brings back to the table what is really important: good produce, carefully treated ingredients, passion, serenity, calmness ⦠It can properly be defined as a restaurant serving âslow foodâ, sharing âslow timesâ⦠Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful food, simple and unpretentious. Our lunch âUnha Viaxe polo Baladoâ started with smoked cured salmon at the lareira⦠It was certainly sublime. The cheese, homemade, had the right smoky flavor (the 80/20 combination made it strong but subtle). Divine. The calamari croquettes were amazing, soft, velvety. So was the homegrown tomato with cheese⦠The anguia was nice and strong, a peculiar flavor that some will favor. The meat perfectly presented. The desserts were amazing, introducing the right degree of freshness after a strong meal. All in all I would strongly recommend this place, for the whole experience. Cannot wait to return during the winter and enjoy the coziness of that lareira⦠Certainly beautiful place with marvelous food. Thank you Marta e Roberto, we will be back!
