Royal Mandarin has a new location on the north side of town. Itâs very close to Union Hospital and near the ISU campus. We stopped by on the day they opened and were not disappointed. Our favorites were just the same as the other locations and as always, quick and friendly service. We are always happy to have another good restaurant on the north side.

This restaurant had some of the freshest, delicious and best priced Asian food I have ever had. I eat sushi, Chinese and Japanese often and this place really impressed me. Great service and clean too!!The hot and sour soup was so good I had to order one to go! And for $2.50, I should have bought five! Gosh I wish we didnât live over 600 miles away!

We had come back from the Bridge Festival and it was late. We had never tried this place and decided to get take out. My wife ordered beef and broccoli. I ordered the General Tso's chicken. The portions were plentiful. The chicken was tender and delicious. We loved both of our meals. I think we found a new take out Chinese restaurant.

We ordered carryout of appetizers, 3 entrees, and fried rice. The Crab Rangoon was crisp and the filling had one of the best textures and taste of any we've had. We beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, and sesame beef. All was very good. The breaded and fried items were uniformly covered and none were greasy. The sesame beef with rice noodles was the best dish and we even ate the sauce flavored noodles left after the beef was gone. Two toddlers and Four adults shared this food and we had leftovers for lunch.

The food here is good and there seem to be a lot of authentic dishes offered. We dined there with friends who eat there regularly, and are familiar with the owner. It was good, except for the owner's unsolicited advice--not even advice, more like insistence that she knew better than we did what we wanted. I may not be Chinese, but I am a grown-up and capable of choosing my own dinner! My daughter also went here with a group of friends and had the same sort of experience. The owner telling them, "You don't want that, you want this" when they tried to choose their dishes. No, thanks.
