The restaurant is simple, but kept clean. The wait staff is polite and keeps things cleared often. The food selection was pretty good, including Sushi, hot Chinese and American appetizers, entrees and desserts. I went here once recently for lunch and a second time with family for dinner. The prices are fair for the selections and quality offered. Each time the food trays were kept with a fresh supply coming from the kitchen.
Where to eat Pub food in Hazlet: The Best Restaurants and Bars
I went into Liu's Garden today 4/232014 and it was 10;45 am I ordered off the Lunch menu General Taos Chicken I was surprised that you only got the rice and chicken, no soup not fortune cookie where as another Chinese restaurant in the same tone for the same price gives you soup, the General Taos Chicken , two fortune cookies. I will go back to Number 1 Chinese Restaurant on Union Ave in Haslet, NJ get a better deal for same price
The food is very good at this family business. Take out or delivery. There are a couple of tables, but you don't want to eat dinner there.Their house special soup, wonton egg drop soup, cold sesame noodle, fried wonton, roast pork Mei Fon, Singapore Mei Fon, Lo Mein Crispy Duck and Egg Foo Young are great! Their General Tso Chicken (or Shrimp), broccoli with garlic sauce and shrimp with lobster sauce are really close seconds. No MSG.

We waited several months after this place opened before we ate here. The old restaurant in this location had been run-down for years and we were hoping for an Chinese-Thai-Asian Restaurant that would be an improvement. Unfortunately, not so much at Zhang's. I've rarely seen more than a couple of cars in their parking lot and that should have been a hint. It is nicely decorated with plenty of seating. We had an early dinner and the restaurant had only one other table occupied. I started with Egg Drop - Wonton soup and that tasted good and was warm. The waiter seemed a bit confused and finally got all of the soups and salads to the people in our group although it took several trips to get it right. My wife said her Miso soup was not warm and she didn't like her salad. I had the House Combination (Shrimp, scallop, chicken, pork & mixed vegs. w. specialties sauce) with brown rice and thought that it tasted good and seemed fresh. My wife and a friend at the table both had Chicken Teriyaki and both complained that the chicken was fatty and chewy. It came with some sauteed onions, but the menu describes it with vegetables. It seemed kind of skimpy for the cost. The server had to go back twice to get all of the food for our group of six, so it took 5-10 minutes from the time that first plate was served until the last was set-down at the table. I was one of the first, but held-off eating and my food was getting cold by the time the last plate was served. There is a very wide selection of food, from Chinese, to Thai, to Asian, to Sushi. If the whole experience was better, I would go back to try other things, but I didn't enjoy this enough to go back. Prices were not inexpensive for what it is. The place has a full bar.

I read many reviews be going. One guy expected service and was angry for not getting any. He probably did not hear that "when in Rome, speak Italian". It start that you better know what to order. On Saturday night no one has the time to explain anything. We sat down. We got a menu with a pen. We marked the dishes we wanted; Vegtable soup, Vegtable dompling and spicy Wanton. Food arrived quickly and was eaten quickly. Delicious, delicious, delicious. $20+4 tip. Good bye. As said no nonsense food.
