Older restaurant, little rough looking but appeared clean and the food was very good. Good service as well.

Ordered the Kung Pao chicken since the buffet is closed on Tuesdays. Received the order in less than 5 minutes. The only veggies on it were lots of carrot cubes and celery, both totally raw. This may be the standard for Diamond Head, but I've eaten the same dish all over the country and always received other veggies with it that are stir fried instead of raw. I will not order it again. Our order of chicken fried rice was standard fare. Not too bad, not too good.

I don't mean to ethnically profile, but I do feel more reassured when I go for Chinese food that there are clearly Chinese people involved. Now that does NOT mean they automatically can cook good food ( Or that other ethnicities can not) just that they've likely been part enough of it culturally to understand authentic VS Americanized versions. Lots of places can do Sweet and Sour chicken, but can they get the Lo mien just right? Sliced garlic chicken with just right amount of garlic?Orange beef? What about original dishes?I've been eating at Dragon King sporadically for over 10 years and it has never disappointed me. The buffet is fine, but I commute so I order off the menu but either is fine.
