Dendermonde (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌdɛndərˈmɔndə], French: Termonde) is a Belgian city and municipality located in the Flemish province of East Flanders in the Denderstreek. The municipality comprises the city of Dendermonde proper and the towns of Appels, Baasrode, Grembergen, Mespelare, Oudegem, Schoonaarde, and Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde. Dendermonde is located at the mouth of the river Dender, where it flows into the Scheldt. The town has a long-standing (folkloric) feud with Aalst (situated south along the same river), which dates back from the Middle Ages.

I have been here a few times and never been disappointed! Everything is here for a nice evening/lunch. Worth trying is the steak tartare,it's handmade at your table. This is the way a steak tartare should be. But the other dishes are also really good!

The interior makes one think of the 1950's and makes one feel at home. Nice for breakfast, lunch or for a coffee (cheap refills of normal coffee), not open for dinner. Also lovely icecreams. The team is very friendly, but service is quite slow, which fits with the atmosphere.
