then cook the goat. Four of us had the Curried goat. One opted for shrimp. I got the best deal as I got goat, shrimp and potted oxtail. We started with a soup substitute.: Ginger beer. Loved it.Decor is rural Jamaican. The lady owner/chef/waitress was very interested in our well being. As her gift, for my birthday, we got Jamaican Cake. Just the thing for our stuffed bellies. The veggies accompanying the meat was also potted. My son-in-law decided he and spouse were going to go monthly for the food. Since I do not drive we will be dependant upon him to deliver us when he goes.

For those who enjoy Latin Cuisine the majority of the restaurants that you find out there are Cuban Restaurants, followed by Colombian restaurants and of course you also have Peruvian, Argentinian and Brazilian restaurants as well but they are the minority. They are all good and share some common dishes with slight preparation differences. With regards to Puerto Rican restaurants they are few and far between and in my experience they are typically small, less than 50 person seating capacity. This restaurant has one of the most varied menu's that I've seen at a PR restaurant, this means that everyone should be able to find something they like, meat, poultry and fish dishes. For the most part if I had to compare with another Latin culture PR cooking is probably closest to Cuban cuisine, with, in my opinion, some improvements here and there. There is free parking in front, excellent service and as I mentioned a very comprehensive menu. We went there for a late lunch and it took about 25-30 minutes to prepare our food with basically no one ahead of us. We had a ton of appetizers and one main dish, fried pork chunks and plantains, everything was pretty good but I suspect it would have been better had we had eaten it fresh while there at the restaurant vs our case which was a take out that we ate 15-20 minutes later. Certain latin dishes do not lend themselves well for take out, for example tostones are not really re-heatable, breaded steak or pork chunks will dry up (lose their moisture) so lets be honest, nothing beats Chinese food for take out and that is why they are the kings of take out vs sit down places to eat. Everything we ordered (about 6 different items) was well packed and labeled. I will go back to try other dishes but I will probably eat onsite. You can check their menu online at their website (Isladelcoquirestaurant.com).

Caribbean Teeze is a Jamaican owned restaurant in Lake Worth, Florida..it's very family oriented. You can sit at a formal dining table or in a booth-style setting. Couple of my friends celebrated birthdays in September/October. This was the place we picked. I had the curried goat served with boiled green bananas and yellow yam..also, sampled the goat soup (a bit heavy on the salt), but tasty. Other dishes we had were oxtail (a must have), brown stewed chicken, stew peas served with white rice and some vegetables on side. Last but not least, the june plum juice and the sorrel drink...so delicious! For dessert, we had Jamaican style black cake.

stopped there with a friend - we both ordered the large portion of brown stew chicken - it came out in a Styrofoam container - it must have weighed 4 pounds - humongus portions of chicken, peas and rice and cabbage - a good amount of sauce as sauce is where its at - and they have a scotch bonnet hot sauce which may be scary but all it adds is great flavor and I used way more than I thought I should but I was never dying of the heat - I took home enough for 2 more meals - the place is tiny - maybe seats 8 and 4 can sit at the bar stool counter - but as tiny as it is the food was great - the person at the counter was pleasant and another gentleman came out from the back and asked us how the food was - very pleasant experience - I am sure 90% of their business is takeout but it is worth the trip to get their food, 2 large brown stew chickens, 2 soft drinks was $29 - I had a ginger pineapple juice in a plastic bottle - TERRIFIC it is made in Coral Springs - remember if you go there it is a dive takeout place but the food more than makes up for lack of atmosphere

The food here is fresh and authentic, and the prices are really good. Chicken or Beef Milanesa lightly breaded and fried with melted cheese on top. The appetizer combo is huge, and offers a little bit o everything. Ham croquettas, potato balls, friend pork chunks, and other tasty items. Fried whole red snapper, amazing. I have not yet tried their arroz con pollo that is made on Sundays I believe, as the two times I tried to order it they had already sold out.
