First, I want to point out how friendly the staff is. You are made to feel at home. I had the monte cristo & pasta salad, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The homemade orange cranberry sauce that went with the sandwich was divine!

I have been going there for years, but this is first review. First of all, ALL of their food is GREAT! Second, service is top notched. But, the main reason for finally reviewing The Bayou Cafe is their BLUE BERRY pancakes. Taste is great, quantity is enormous, and topped with APPLES -- it is to DIE FOR! But, whether for breakfast or lunch, you cannot go wrong there.

Another gem on Dodecanese Blvd. A small, friendly fudge factory. They have all the traditional flavors and you can watch them prepare the fudge while you visit. I had peanut butter. My wife chose dark chocolate. So good and so rich. Don't miss it.

New owners, noticeable as soon as they took over. We continued to eat there even though it was not half as good as before. Basic breakfast at a reasonable price, what could go wrong? Most recent and my last visit, we waited far too long with only a few customers in the place. My family ordered eggs Benedict, and both had shells in it. Luckily my sister in law spit hers into a napkin because after complaining the owner asked to see the shells. Wow,no apology looks at shells and walks away. The bill comes and we said we were surprised it was not adjusted. So she then, adjusted the bill for one breakfast. Tacky and disappointing, never going back.

I've tried smoked sausage baguette and it was very good! Bread was crispy and well toasted, with fresh vegetables and grilled sausage on top. They have beer or wine special for 1$ with any plate or baguette that was absolutely worth the money. I will be back!
