I happened on to this sweet cafe while wandering the grounds. The food is light and simple served from a counter. Cafe tables are plentiful. There are some books and gifts for sale as well.

Ate here a couple of times while visiting the area, both breakfast and dinner. Both were excellent and the service was very attentive. Definitely recommend.

Very drafty. The only greens (romaine still scarce, but....) on hand, despite the menu, was spinach. The ranch dressing and bacon were tasteless. My husband's sandwich was huge and pretty good. New place. First visit. Hope they get it together.

Ate fish and chips late afternoon, and the staff was down to one very pleasant but overworked cook/server/cashier. My portion was very small, and very breaded, and slightly overcooked; but tasted OK. Chips are chips. But the Cole slaw was bland, and the "tarter sauce" was pretty much mayo, I think; but with no sparkle or acid. And there was a huge slice of Texas toast on top of the order - that was a surprise, but maybe the menu mentioned it as I had forgotten my reading glasses. So to pass the time until the order arrived, I watched the ten or so flies buzzing around trying to get out. Fish (2) and chips and a lemonade ran $18, before a tip. Bottom line: Doc's Marina Grill and the Silverwater Cafe serve much better fried fish and excellent Cole slaws and in a much more pleasant environment.

Owl Sprit Cafe

This small cafe has raised the basic to new heights for Port Townsend casual dining. The focus is on sandwiches, burritos, tacos, salads, soups, and smoothies. Owl Sprit does take "local" seriously, with their truly great burgers sourced from locally grow

On a rainy evening this is a cozy respite. Table seating and being waited on is unique to dinner. For lunch you take care of everything at the counter. One of my favorites is the Veggie or Vegan Grilled Sandwich. It’s healthy and delicious. Sweet staff, art on the walls hand made foods and desserts.

We had a 90th birthday lunch for my mother. We requested some tables and asked that the guests arrive and order about a half hour before we arrived with Mom. The Cafe people were so accommodating! Everyone ordered sandwiches or salads, drinks and chips. They were all excellent -- such a variety to choose from and better-than-homemade! We ordered the German Chocolate cake for her birthday dessert (we had had it the year before for my husbands birthday) and it was to die for! Can't recommend this cafe highly enough! My only regret is that they aren't located in our town in South Jordan, Utah!

Half our family can’t do dairy or soy products. The other half can’t do eggs, and none of us do meat (beyond salmon and halibut). With meals out always a challenge, we were pleasantly surprised to all have the opportunity to order different meals to accommodate our food restrictions. It was busy (we went in July) and there was a wait, but we enjoyed our food and the atmosphere.

Half a century ago people made a special trip to go to the local airport to watch the planes come and go. In fact, some of the best restaurants in smaller cities were at airports. Washington Dulles had one back in the day before airports became places of trial and tribulation. The Spruce Goose Cafe is a throwback in that sense, located on the ramp crowded with single-engine private planes. It's diner food, and very good diner food. My Reuben sandwich was worth writing home about (or reviewing on TripAdvisor) and the tuna melt, salads, and veggie plates ordered by my companions were also pronounced very good. $62 plus tip for four people.

It was a small little cafe, cozy and clean. Wait person was nice and efficient. The sandwich was overstuffed and the chowder was excellent. Salad was fresh with a fantastic light dressing. All delicious and yummy! Price a bit high for lunch but it is in the middle of town, very convenient, and Port Towsend is an expensive tourist town.
