I will always remember the fantastic salmon salad served at the Highlander Cafe (selected from a Tripadvisor recommendation). My husband had a cauliflower cheese soup and a 'special' panini chicken sandwich with apple butter. Open only for lunch, the service was friendly, incredibly fast and the interior clean and pleasant. A great place to visit while shopping in the Citrus area of Crystal River. Truly a gem!

We walked into this shop because we thought it looked fun. At first, we thought it would be nice to eat there, but when the owner came to take our order she looked and acted annoyed with us. We asked for water, she charged us $1 each for a cup of tap water! I ordered the special, broccoli quiche. It ended up being $12 for a small portion and a small salad. The prices were high, the portions were small, and we felt unwelcome. Needless to say, we wonât be back.

I loved this place for it's wide assortment of coffees, smoothies and food selections...coupled with a casual dining (take out or eat in) experience, too! Very relaxed and homey. Cookies, Brownies, all manner and types of pastries...PLUS sandwiches, soups and salads! Cuban Sandwiches, Pastrami (Reuben) sandwiches, Steak subs and more...Broccoli Cheese Soup and Baked Potato Soup and more..this place is a must try. I had the "Build your own salad" and I chose grilled chicken with a honey mustard dressing. Absolutely delicious! I also had the fresh brewed unsweetened tea and used the Splenda sweetener on hand...and it was also very good. I was bemoaning my move to this area being devoid of GREAT smoothie place...and now HERE is one! Pricing is also very reasonable (lower than I've seen for sandwiches, soups and salads in the Crystal River area). Instead of Dunkin' Donuts, TRY Tania's House. You will NOT be disappointed. The owners are jewels and their customer service rivals some fine dining establishments I've been too...and this is casual dining! DO give this Mom & Pop place a try and I know that you'll not be disappointed!
