This has become my favourite coffee place, love that the large take away cups are actually large and their Chai Lattes are my favourite.Home made mouth watering cakes, beautiful soup of the day and their salads are wonderful.Breakfast is very generous, great little place with lovely friendly staff.I do apologize for my late reply, but thank you for your kind review. I like to pass on reviews such as this to my wonderful staff as they really are appreciated. I think I may have been banned from the kitchen for attempting to sample most of the cakes but can agree with you on that one. I hope we continue to see you as a regular.RegardsJames

We called by for the breakfast deal we had read about on Facebook. The restaurant doesn't pretend to be much but delivers in spades. Having left Sydney to retire in Albany, my wife and I were a little worried that our best meals were behind us. The coffee shops in Albany are fabulous and the coffee here was no exception. The meals were prepared by someone clearly with a passion for fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentation. A small family run place which under promised and over delivered. Excellent value. Very good overall experience. The proprietors deserve to succeed.

Had the opportunity to sample breakfast at this cafe. The avocado stack with salmon was delicious. The egg and bacon wrap was of generous proportions-enough for two people to share. The aroma of coffee as you entered the cafe was very authentic and we were not disappointed with the flavour and taste of the coffee.Dont walk past this cafe when you are in Albany.

Our Albany friends booked dinner at Lavender Cottage when we were visiting from Perth. Lovely ambience, friendly service and amazing food. Complimentary fresh baguette, butter and amuse bouche smoked salmon tartlet to start. My husband and I had the entree Bouillabaisse which was absolutely divine - our friend had the scallops and chorizo and his wife had the terrine, pate board. All very generous portions. We then received a complimentary sorbet to cleanse our palate (delicious) the men had the trio of pork, I had the trio of duck. We also received a complimentary salad and potato dauphinoise. AMAZING!! We then a shared desserts of creme brûlée. Also took along our own wine. I made a visit to the bathroom which was through the kitchen and was amazed at how small the kitchen was - the food was delivered at the same time for all courses and it was a busy night, so hats off to the chef - we will definitely visit again when we are next in Albany.

Even if you’re not looking for a coffee and snack this little cafe/alimentaria and curio shop is worth a visit for its quirky decor and shelves of condiments, soaps, lotions and bric-a-brac. But the freshly baked French pastries, croissants, quiches and delights from the wood fired oven are irresistible. If you’re lucky there may even be a cassoulet. The coffee is fabulous. Service is friendly and the atmosphere very pleasant and relaxed with soft background trad jazz. Hard to leave.
