Wiltz (Luxembourgish: Wolz, pronounced [ˈvolts]) is a commune with town status in north-western Luxembourg, capital of the canton Wiltz. Wiltz is situated on the banks of the river Wiltz. It was also a battleground in the Battle of the Bulge, near the end of World War II. A local airfield (near the village of Noertrange) was used by both sides of the conflict, depending on the location of the Front.

Beim Schlass Restaurant

Chose this on the basis of other TripAdvisor reviews. The fish dishes were excellent as was the kniddelen. However, the feierstangzalot had some chewy horrible pieces of beef which was a bit disappointing and I was unable to finish. As we were driving back to the campsite we didn’t have wine this time. I would come back If I was in Wiltz but I would hope the service has improved a bit. It was very very very slow. I had to gesture to the waiters a number of times as we were sitting for a long time with empty plates. Also I informed them at 8.30pm we really needed to leave but we still hadn’t paid by 9.15pm.

La Table de Clervaux

We literally stumbled upon this place by chance. After a long day of tromping all over Luxembourg and Belgium looking at WWII sites, we were on our way back to Wiltz. Being vegetarian, I was having a hard time finding somewhere to eat in Wiltz that wasn't a pizza place. I suggested Clervaux as we had been to this town the day before and it seemed like they might have more places to choose from. We landed here with the pleasant surprise of having 2 vegetarian choices listed on the menu!!Although we didn't have reservations, they were able to accommodate us immediately. Our waiter was very kind and patient with our French and our food came out promptly! My husband had a trout that had been caught locally and I had a vegetable souffle that was melt in your mouth delicious. After dinner, the chef (who is also the owner) came out to talk to us. He is the 3rd generation owner of the hotel and restaurant and was very personable and welcoming. In fact - I was sorry that we hadn't booked a stay in the hotel! I would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and hotel for anyone looking for a pleasant experience with outstanding service.

If ever your are visiting this charming little village in the north of Luxembourg, you may consider paying a visit to the restaurant "Les Arcades", annexed to the Hotel International. Prices are a bit high, but you can bring them to "reasonable" if you choose one of the menus (I took one at around 35€ and it was excellent), and if you pick one of Mousel's excellent white wines (around 20-25€) rather than a Bordeaux. What I can testify is that you will not be disappointed by what the chef will propose you. After all, Clervaux is a tiny little village, and the choice is not that big: I decided to go here, and I went safe.

tracked this gem down based on Tripadvisor reviews. Not disappointed. Staff were welcoming and handled our minimal language skills with ease. Food was fresh and fantastic. Eclectic decor and the clientele was a real mix, families, tourists of all ages, couples and friends. Great atmosphere.

The restaurant has a great history, starting out as a train caterer and so the train is the general theme. It has the capacity to seat half the town and that space is completely used. Nonetheless the seating is spacious and you don’t feel overwhelmed by the crowdiness. If your party is 3 or more, it seems best to book a table, although we were 5 and got a table for lunch immediately. The food is good and consistent, mainly Belgian traditional courses. Staff is very friendly and correct. It’s amazing how the whole business runs like a smooth machine. It was a lovely experience.
