It is located in the Wahiawa District, on the plateau or "central valley" between the two volcanic mountains that comprise the island. In Hawaiian, wahi a wā means "place of noise", perhaps a reference to the fact that heavy surf on the North Shore could be heard from here, or to the sounds of the ancient military training exercises conducted on these plains. The population was 17,821 at the 2010 census.

We were at the Dole plantation and decided to have something to eat. It was most definitely not Uncle Woody's BBQ however. There were several efficient queues taking orders and serving Dole whip. My husband and I both enjoyed the grill items we ordered. The portions were plentiful and ingredients very fresh. Of note is that their menu selections are somewhat limited. The Dole whip was extremely good. Again, though, the prices were on the high side. If you're hungry when you arrive or before you leave, you can definitely enjoy something here.

We had lunch at Aloha Korean BBQ. The food is really quite good and in huge quantities. Mini-plates are available. They have some of the best shrimp tempura on the island! Prices are very reasonable. The lady behind the counter is extremely friendly. Don't look to closely at the atmosphere. Just enjoy good inexpensive food.

Make sure to check under the foil in the bottom of your styrofoam tray before tossing it. There are usually 2 pieces of tempura like pieces under there.If you do take out you wikl get a clear plastic container or rice and a smaller container of marinated radish.My husband prefers to order from here instead of the other korean restaurant a few doors down. If you dine in you get tastier side dishes than the typical kim chee, bean sprouts and cabbage.

Nice place to eat with friends for lunch and dinner. Portions are just right and the ambiance is so relaxed. Service is really very attentive and kamaaina. The food is prepared well (cooked ones) and the meats well marinated.This is our to go place when my friends and I just want a place to eat and catch up with our lives.
