Senat Beach sits on Anse Madame Beach at Schoelcher. Half of the tables are set in the sand, the rest on a wooden deck. All tables are covered. Great grilled fish and steaks. Served with local vegetables, rice and excellent salads. And there is their excellent sauce 'chien' a local speciality. Daily specials include local dishes like octopus Fricassee. There is also a kids' menu. And if you just want to enjoy a drink and admire the beach view, the beers are always well chilled. A great laid back hangout. Open for lunch and dinner.

in light of the recent reviews we expected great food, however the food was really mediocre. The service was ok, but not friendly. however, the main issue was poor food and as you would have expected, not many customers

Barbecue at it's best. Real local eating place. I had the chicken brochettes with sweet potato fries. Cooked to perfection with a light curry flavor and the side of salad and tomatoes was very fresh considering the heat. The fresh fish of the day was a very large Vivaneau served with local yams, red beans and rice. The flank steak was so large and served with sweet potatoes that we definitely couldn't finish everything. All of this for only 45 euros, small bottle of rose wine included. The whole Savane had the sweet odeur of barbecue and now understand why the locals stand in line. Service is excellent and very friendly. Definitely recommend the Oasis Grill.

Idéal le soir pour boire une bière, manger des grillades correctes (poulet, viande, pas de poisson du jour le jour où nous y sommes allés), sur des tables de pique nique les pieds dans le sable sur une plage peu touristique... et profiter du coucher de soleil.
