The Rig Restaurant & Lounge

When in San Franando the Rig is definitely one of the spots to go to have a drink chill or lime with friends and eat. You'll get lots of music and see lots of people if you go either a Friday or Saturday night. I would be returning and I rate The Rig 4/5 as a bar and restaurant. If I had to critic anything I would say the bar and other staff could give service with a smile.

Island Beer Chill & Grill

I visited this establishment with my wife. No special ocassion. (28 Dec 2018).The ambience: was OK. It looks like a pub/restaurant. Children are allowed. TVs everywhere showing sports. The food: was pretty good. We ordered the England fish and chips ($99.00) and the beef burger ($73.00). Both dishes were very good, burger was smokey and juicy, while the batter for the fish was crunchy and tasty... The only disappointment was the Cole slaw salad ($20.00)... Completely tasteless. The service: it took almost 40 minutes to get our drinks, grapefruit juice ($15.00) and a draft beer ($27.00 - for Sierra Nevada beer - which I didn't like). The food came right after that, during our meal nobody check on us. I wanted another beer, but could not find nobody anywhere.. Except for this young guy, who looks like a manager. The only helpful person in the whole place, but not enough for all patrons.Suggestion : change your staff, train them to give an excellent service and you will see how this place will fill up everyday. Pros: fish and chips were excellent.

I took my family to this restaurant at their request on the first day of restaurant week in Trinidad. Overall it was an ok experience...the positives: excellent service, great ambiance. It seems a great place to hang for drinks with friends. For appetizers I opted for the shrimp which was perhaps the best of all the dishes we had. My brother had smoked salmon and crackers which are hard to mess up and another in our party had the soup. My main course was a disappointment, the surf and turf fell below expectations. The steak was tough and the shrimp was over cooked. Others had the fish and one of my guests actually felt the fish was undercooked and could not finish it. We all had chocolate cake for dessert as the other advertised items were unavailable. I understand that the freezer was out and they were unable to serve ice-cream but I thought they should have offered an alternative. The place has a lot of potential and I could tell the wait staff did the best they could but more attention must be paid to the food. One of our party found a hair in her chocolate cake so that did not leave us with the best of impressions.

I have to say that it is more of a bar and a hookah lounge than it is a restaurant. The establishment was a bit busy for Sunday night. My bf and I ended up here because there were few places opened to eat at the time. The service was alright however the food was a bit bland. Also too the music was a bit too loud to carry on a decent conversation. If you're looking for a place to go out and drink and lime then this would be the place for you. If you're planning on dinning, it's best to try somewhere else.

Thank God Its Fridays

This restaurant has not improved its service levels in years. I avoided this restaurant for over 9 months because of the bad service last year but my husband and I decided to give it a try recently. There were alot of servers standing around but we still had to wait to receive a menu and to place an order. The one appetizer order took extremely long to come out as well. They also did not have one of the wine options listed on the menu which was requested. I guess we will be avoiding here again.

Canboulay

Reviewed By carolyn b

Canboulay Restaurant is located on Sutton Street. Although it is not a large restaurant it is a popular spot for working people,"limers" , families and couples. I have rated the resataurant as very good based on the variety of consistently flavorful and well- seasoned dishes . The service can improve since it tends to be a bit slow. The Restaurant is appealing also for its cleanliness and relaxed atmosphere. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant since the prices ard reasonable and one can order a meal to suit almost every palate.
