Garden Thai is just walking distance from my house. They just recently opened and I decided to give them a try. I ordered Laad Naa not on their menu but they were sweet enough to make it for me so that I could enjoy it at home.Friendly people, family owned family run, they deserve a shot to be successful especially with such great tasting Thai food!

Osho, under new ownership in the last year, is still a great place for sushi and other Japanese food. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous and the food is excellent, Their "lunch special" can't be beat ($8.50 for miso soup, salad, tempura and chicken). I've been going here for years and have never had a bad meal.

Located in the parking lot of Manhattan Beach Mall, easy parking. Food is not greasy, will hold the salt or change sauces on the dish ordered if you ask the server. The chicken in black bean sauce is especially good. Food is on par with PF Changs. Lunch bowls with rice are always a good choice. Tea is extra. There is a nice outdoor patio.

We lunched here on a weekday. They advertised Happy Hour prices btw. 11-2 and they were reasonable!! Some of us had the bento box lunch which was very reasonable at $8, including shrimp tempura, another entree of your choice (I had chicken teriyaki), rice, salad, miso soup. Others in my party had nigiri sushi and some sushi specials, like sushi foie gras (very unique!!). It was very busy at lunch and only one main waitress so the service was a little slow. But they were very gracious and the food got served eventually and was very good.

Big Wok

Reviewed By Stevieg22

We came across the Big Wok a few years ago while staying in Hermosa Beach while on vacation. Whenever we return to the area we make sure to visit for a fun and tasty meal. Back in the area for Spring Break, we decided to hit the Big Wok last night. Friday nights or at least this one was quite different than our past few visits. The place was hopping!!! People just kept on pouring in, which made the whole experience all the more fun. We’ve always found it a quirky place. Not much in the way of decor, it has an 90’s vibe, with tables crammed in to fill the space. Great spot for family or group dining especially on a night like last night, it was busy and noisy and fun to watch all the activity. For those who have not experienced a Mongolian BBQ, there are large round grills where you food is fried up in front of you while you watch and wait. You start off by loading your bowl with meat (thinly sliced and frozen), then similar to a salad bar there are lots and lots of different veggies you can add to your bowl. It is fun to watch some people squashing everything with their hands into one bowl while others fill two separate bowls to make their own super huge stir-fry. At the end of the self-serve food bar there are numerous flavoured waters, oils, sauces and spices along with recipes to make your own custom stir-fry. Once your bowl is filled and sauces and oils are added you head to the line for the grill station. Last nights line happened to be the longest we had seen while eating at the Big Wok. I had fun chatting with some of the other patrons. As usual, we all enjoyed our custom creations!! They were tasty, fresh and hot! If you like your food to be hot when you get it then you will surely love the Big Wok. I recommend this place to anyone looking to have fun while enjoying a good amount of fresh tasty food. Oh... did I mention it is all you can eat!!! Yup you can return and make as many stir fry plates as you can eat. When asked if you would like some bread or rice, both of which come with your meal... definitely take the bread. The rice is nothing special (steamed sticky white rice) but the bread is soooooo good! It is a very unique little pocket of fresh chewey goodness. Don’t forget to look around and observe what others have created it is all part of the fun... whoa... did you see the size of that guys plate!!!

Thai Dishes

Reviewed By luv2trvlRedondoBeach

We picked up our daughter from the airport, and we needed to find a restaurant that was still open at 9:15 p.m. Thai Dishes was on our way home and my husband had eaten lunch at the restaurant in the past. The internet said they were open until 10:00 p.m. We waited at the door for a few minutes before anyone came to greet us. There were customers eating dinner, though there were no employees in the dining area. The restaurant is quite pretty inside and you actually feel transported to another country. We were ultimately seated near the front door. We were given menus and shortly thereafter the waitress asked about appetizers. We ordered an appetizer, Chicken Satay, and we continued looking at the menu. Approximately 10 minutes after we were seated we were asked to move to another area of the restaurant, where there were more people. My husband mentioned it was noisier in the other area, but we were told they wanted to close our area for the evening. So, we moved. The table was smaller, it was noisier, and the ambiance wasn't the same. Our appetizer was brought, and we ordered two additional dishes. The Chicken Satay didn't have a lot of flavor, though the chicken was moist. Our remaining two dishes were brought out within five minutes. The Beef noodle dish didn't have a lot of flavor and the noodles were overcooked. The Cashew Chicken dish was very good. We were brought a very small bowl of rice, which wasn't enough for 3 people, but by this time I figured the restaurant's goal was to get everyone out by 10:00 p.m., and so we didn't ask for more rice. The waitress starting taking our appetizer dish though we were still enjoying the sweet and sour cucumbers. The waitress did ask us if we wanted more water. Overall we were rushed through a $40 meal so that the employees could go home by 10:00 p.m. It was the end of the night so the food wasn't as good as it could have been.

After eating at this restaurant more than four times now, we continue to be amazed at the high delicious quality of the food and service. Despite its difficult name, it wins hands down for wonderful food and service. Reservations are a must and you should call days in advance, but the planning is worth it. There is a broad selection of draft beers from Japan. Their special sushi rolls rock. Try the asparagus dish which is perfectly cooked every time. The tempura is light and tasty. If you enjoy salmon sushi, try it. Avoid the squash dish however. Bring kids as they have some nice dishes for them - ask the waiter. This is the place to go in town.
