Ive been coming here for 40 years. Sadly, the last two Sunday brunch family trips have been a disappointment against the last decades of experience.12:00 reservations on both trips found the buffet to generally in great need of restocking. The buffet selection seemed reduced, both for hot selections and deserts. The mens room was dirty and poorly stocked. My omlet order was perfectly prepared and delivered promptly and hot!Table service was as friendly and efficient as alwaysBrunch for the 4 of us ran to $230

I've lived in Robbinsdale long enough to have been through both iterations of The Lodge, and while the ownership has changed, the issues have not. Let me be clear upfront: I do not give a restaurant review based on one visit. I go multiple times to see if maybe they had an off day. When the same troubles hit every time, it's a pattern. During my last visit, under new management mind you, the same problems from the previous management were present. However, before I talk about the negative, let's look at the positive. The good:The Lodge hosts some nice events. There's music, there's comedy, and there's football viewing parties and bingo. These are all good things that are community builders, so that's a good thing. The tacos (a tater tot nacho blend) is filling. The not so good: There is, unfortunately, a lot not to like here. The cleanliness of the place is lacking. You almost don't want to touch anything because plates, silverware, seats, tables, glasses, and such are all dirty. I wanted to chalk it up to an off day, but in the times I've been a patron of the place, it's been dirty. The menu, outside the tachos, is standard fare you can get anywhere is nothing really special. The chef can have a very heavy hand with the salt which makes the meat unpleasant to eat. However, the most egregious issue with The Lodge, and this was true of both owners is the service is terrible. I want to be positive and say that they try. I really do. But, the proof isn't found. When I visited solo for lunch, I had to go find a server. I explained to the woman I had 45 minutes before I had to head back. She took my order and then disappeared. No drink, no food for 40 minutes. I couldn't even find the server. It is not that the place was busy. There was only myself and another older couple who asked me if I knew where she was. Eventually, I broke the rules, opened the door to the kitchen, and yelled, "Hello?!" She was in there with the chef just chatting. I asked for my stuff to go, and learned that it hadn't even been started yet. That's a problem. Fast forward a few weeks, and I tried again for dinner with my kids. We waited 30 minutes to get our appetizers (and for a 5 and 8 year old who are hungry, that's a lifetime). After dropping off an burger that was incorrectly cooked, it was sent back and incorrectly cooked again. When we finally got it, it was nothing special. It was just a cooked burger. Same as I could have picked up in Crystal or New Hope. I've been told the bar is good, but I don't drink, so I can't comment on it. I really want to like The Lodge. I want it to be a place where I can take my kids and have a good meal, but the lack of service has made it impossible. I will not be returning there.

My wife and I had dinner here after a visit to the Minneapolis Institute of Art before heading to a wedding in Northern Wisconsin. We ate in the upstairs dining room. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. My martini was great. I started with an excellent steak tartare followed by an unusual preparation of lobster meat stuffed in a deboned chicken leg. That doesnât sound very good, but it was. My wifeâs octopus and clam bouillabaisse was really outstanding, loaded with shellfish. We also ordered a delicious romanesco broccoli atop creamy, cheesy polenta. The food and service were excellent. Highly recommend.

Happy to have secured a place ( this is a highly booked place), I had high expectations - and I was not disappointed! From the oysters, through the scallops, and to the chocolate dessert, everything was exceptional, including impeccable service. The dessert probably tops my list, with a custard inside a "ring" of chocolate and with blackberries and hazelnut brittle on top, simply amazing!

Young Joni represents the fine-dining experience as a place of hospitality, warmth and everyday celebration. With a menu thatâs traditional with a twist, approachable but different, and an atmosphere both welcoming and sophisticated, itâs a place made for
My daughter and family brought me to Young Joni. Had no idea what to expect They rave about the pizza and food. My daughter was insistent that we arrive at 4:30 as seating fills up quickly for dinner. She was right. Shortly thereafter people were waiting to be seated. (I don't believe they take reservations.). Diner, take note of this!We were seated at a portion of a high top table. We started with a cooked, spiced cauliflower appetizer that was fabulous. Then several pizzas to share. These wood fired pizzas were delicious! They do have gluten free options. The wood fired oven is in view of the diners. Fun atmosphere! You DO want to dine here!!! A hidden gem.

This place caught me by surprise. Iâm not sure what I expected but I was really glad we dined here. I had the Walleye sandwich with a salad. Service was great and our waitress was really attentive. The salad was served on a really nice and cold plate to keep the iceberg lettuce crisp. While the salad was simple it did the job. The sandwich was great. Really crispy fish. I ordered the cheesecake for dessert. This was an amazing decision. One of the best slices I have ever had. It was SO good! The waitress will drop off your check. Just take it to the counter to pay (donât forget to leave a tip!). Iâd totally go back.

Warmly greeted by staff as it was obvious we were first timers. Coffee is a big part of breakfast for us and the coffee was excellent. Very good cheese and grits. Avo-Bacon Benny was creative and exceptional. The dining area is worn and that knocks off one star, but the food is so good! We will be back very soon. Well done! Yum!

Great larger greasy spoon breakfast spot that always seems to be full. Servings are very large so prepared to be full when you leave! In addition to standard breakfast fare, they offer a great selection of different versions of eggs rancheros with spicy sauces. A little more expensive than smaller diners as most dishes are in $11-$12 range but still a good value given food quality and portion size.

Funky place (in the best kind of way) run by a restauranteur family. The breakfast choices are creative and delicious. I was there with my future son-in-law, but my 83-year-old dad has also eaten there and really enjoyed it. Service was excellent, and friendly to the point of being slightly playful. Would eat there again anytime.

Super fun German festival with music, games, costumes and oh the food. I was very pleased with the quality and creativity of the choices. So many delicious items; mini Rueben, sausages, fried pretzels, plus Giant pans of paella. Good beer options too. Next year I'm dressing Deutsch.
