In Kansas City for a wedding my family and I decided barbecue would hit the spot. There are many famous barbecue joints in Kansas City but we picked one Iâve never been to.Q 39 is a quality restaurant with very good barbecue. There was a large group of us and everybody ordered something differentMany of us shared ours with each other and weâre all pleasantly surprised that everything was very good.I had a rib dinner. The ribs were done to perfection, the side dishes tasted great and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their dinnerI highly recommend this restaurant to anybody in the Plaza area of Kansas City seeking good barbecue.Next time Iâm in KC that will be one of my stops

I cannot say enough good things about Bluestem! We had an absolutely marvelous experience. We've spent some time in Michelin star restaurants and this is definitely on par with them. The food was edible art and the wine pairings were perfectly on point. Make a resy now! You will not be disappointed!

Had a horrible experience at the new Plaza III the day before, so we tried this restaurant. It was FANTASTIC! Expensive, like Plaza III, but service was phenomenal and the food, absolutely delicious!! I really mean everything, every detail of the presentation and taste of the food was awesome. First class all the way!! Plaza III needs to take serious notes from J Gilbert's!

We've been here many times. Salads are great, and a good value either as a side or as an entree. Pork chop is excellent. So are Stroganoff and Panko Shrimp entrees, to name two. There are other good choices too. The green beans that come with some entrees could use a little more character. The scallops were a disappointment, tasted pretty fishy. My wife didn't eat them. Same with shrimp added to a salad. Probably best without. Soup of the day often excellent. The rolls served with the salads used to be great (pretzelbrot), but now are mediocre, plain rolls.

We had eaten at this tiny bistro several times in the past and had enjoyed it, although that was a number of years ago. In comparison, this visit was extremely disappointing. Food was average and the service poor. Even the staff at the door seemed bored and disinterested - they certainly were not welcoming. Sorry to see such a decline over time.

We popped in for a quick lunch and both had burgers. Blue burger add avocado...ahhh soo good! Sweet potato fries. Hubby had Classique with regular fries. Both burgers were gone!!! Regular fries were even better than sweet potato ones! We will be back!!

We had been before and it was a good experience. However tonight Darius made our experience excellent. We took friends that had never been because we loved the food the first time. But with Darius as our waiter and the care and attention to detail, he made this experience beyond any expectation we may have had. Great food, phenomenal service. We will be back.

I've been to the Olathe location several times, but ate here for the first time a couple weeks ago. Generally, I think all their food is very good. But this time, I got fries with my sandwich and was dipping them in the hot BBQ sauce and was disappointed with the sweet potato taste. Why would they cook the regular fries in the same vat as the sweet potato fries???? Well, here's the thing - they don't have sweet potato fries. It was the hot BBQ sauce giving them that flavor. It was the weirdest thing! The regular BBQ sauce was good and the fries by themselves were also good, so it was definitely the hot BBQ sauce giving it that flavor. Wonder if they mixed up the recipe or something... anyway I did not care for that sauce. The rest of it was good.

Stopped by on our way around town after running around town all day. I went in without having ordered ahead and expected to wait for 15-20 minutes to get my order. I was promptly helped at the bar and ordered my food. The waitress was very helpful and got my order in and I had my food in approximately 7 minutes. The food itself was excellent. Burnt ends were the bomb! Had Mac and Cheese and Baked Beans for the sides and they were excellent as well. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone that wants some good local BBQ without the big chain feel.

My husband and I took my in-laws here for Father's Day. It was their first visit and they were already planning their next visit before we left! The service was great, the atmosphere pleasant and the food delicious. The three of them ordered steaks with a lobster tail side and I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi - it was all wonderful. We finished the meal with their signature dessert, the chocolate bag. So good! A little pricey but a great place for a special meal.
