Eliassen Rorbuer

There is a place on Earth where the Sun never sets, the Northern lights never cease to amaze, and the landscape changes constantly, the wind never stops blowing and the people always smile. These are the Lofoten. Eliassen Rorbuer is a holiday resort with fishermen’s cabins, enjoying the longest tradition in the tourist industry in Lofoten. We offer accommodation in a traditional fishermen’s cabin camp, in the most beautiful western part of the Lofoten Islands. It is situated on the tiny island of Hamnøy in Western Lofoten, the Moskenes municipality. The island is the last one in the archipelago to have the road link. Currently the Lofoten Islands are mainly associated with fishing, which takes place from January to April, alongside the entire archipelago. All of our cabins are new renovated and got a new floor, kitchen, bathroom and furnishings. Welcome to refreshed Eliassen Rorbuer!

Could be better

Reviewed By Jesper C

Our room was with direct view to the fjord and mountains- excellent - but there is no direct acces from the room to the terrasse. The rorbuer room is fine for two people - but I would not stay a family of four. The bedroom is small and one side direct to the wall, so you have to crawl over. In stead we used the bed in the livingroom which is wallhanged - that leaves very little space to walk around. The bathroom is huge and nice and there are kitchen - but NO coffefacilities - unless you bring your own - how many tourists from abroad do that? When we booked we were asked if we would like to have breakfast - yes please - and though I didn't got a confirmation - three days before we arrived I got another message about breakfast. As we arrived just to find out that the rorbuer did not serve breakfast at the restaurant at that time of the year ( end august) . The place was fully booked and the restaurant was open - come on. So back to the supermarked -5 minutes down the road - and buy some fruit, bread and coffee. Now we have instant coffee for the next travel. AT least the rorbuer could have these small coffeepots they have in every hotel- if not for free - they can sell it. Disappointing. The rorbuer Wass the most expensive place in our trip -but they should take a look at Norsk Havbrugscenter - and see how they do things. I will not recommend this place - there are better options in the area.

Amazing old building

Reviewed By maxpalmieri1981

The building is really amazing, not so easy to find, maybe a sign will help. The staff was a little rude and not so kind but neither aggressive or unpolite. The room was very very well furnished, even with the smallest sink I've ever seen, it reveals a maniac care of details. Very good experience even if the staff was not present the morning we leave.

Beautiful place

This hotel had in my opinion a wonderful way of being professional as well as very down to earth. I stayed in one of the rooms at the hotel. The room was good. It was a nice atmosphere at the bar in the evening. Breakfast was ok, but not great. The location is fabulous.

Nice place though room could be nicer

Check in off season is all through a drop box. Did not see an actual person. Twin bed room was minimalistic and not super nice, but was comfortable. Shared bathrooms are actually quite nice. Nice well stocked kitchen. Good location in town

Small and perfectly fine

Small and perfectly fine. The rooms were a bit on the small side but good enough, and the price was very nice for Lofoten in july. The proximity to the ferry was also one of the main reason we chose this place.

Absolutely stunning place

Reviewed By kostam2000

Having traveled a lot all over the world, I can safely say that this is one of the most stunning places I have stayed at. We had the Deluxe Apartment with Seaview and Balcony and it was absolutely superb. The view is simply breathtaking. I would say it is one of the most iconic views on the Lofoten. What could be best than to admire it through the huge windows or from the apartment's balcony? The flat is perfectly comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, a superb living room with extraordinary views, two bedrooms with cosy mattresses on the main floor plus two extra beds on the loft, and a tasteful, fresh feeling throughout. Everything is spotlessly clean and the overall sense of peace really special. The owners are very kind and willing to help. Do yourself a favor and stay there!

Different and unique place

Cozy and unique atmosphere. It is completely like sleeping in a room at a Friends house. The house is decorated in a way that really helps you relax and set you in the right mood for Lofoten. There is no breakfast, and bathrooms and living room is shared. However it is a part of the concept, and you have both honesty bar and fridge to bring your own food.

The ideal holiday accommodation

Reviewed By Traductora

We spent 4 nights in the suite here. The suite has a twin bedroom and a loft room with two king-sized beds. There is a bathroom, and a kitchen with a fridge, hob and a microwave. There are ovens in the communal facilities downstairs, as well as freezers. We immediately felt at home here, and were very comfortable. Check-in was contactless, and because of that it took us a few days to realize that we were supposed to use the front door to the building, and to leave our shoes there, instead of using the door to the left of the main entrance. The whole building had a very clean and crisp style. It is also perfectly located away from the road, but just a few minutes walk to two supermarkets and a museum. Walking to Å takes about 30 minutes, and Reine is only a 10-minute drive away. There are also several nice hikes in this area. Even though this place is located towards the southern end of Lofoten, you'd be hard pressed to find better accommodation for a holiday in Lofoten.
