Montpellier Bed and Breakfast Inns | Places to Stay in Montpellier

April 25, 2023 Jacquiline Delozier

Getting sick on vacation is a major drag, but if you have to be under the weather, Montpellier is an ideal place to do it. People have studied medicine here for centuries—the Moors established medical schools in the 9th century, and the Université Montpellier’s school of medicine was founded in 1220. Once the local docs give you a clean bill of health, explore the cathedral, mansions and opera house.

A superb weekend!

Reviewed By Borridge

My wife and I stayed for a 4 day long weekend. Marc and Etienne (and Jaja!) were superb hosts -the breakfasts in the courtyard were excellent - fa bowl of a variety of fresh fruits, croissants, coffee and a variety of other things available in the kitchen area. Whilst being some distance out from the city centre, this was easily accessed from the tram stop just a few minutes away. Similarly the coast was only a few miles away by car. The weather also made sure it was a very memorable weekend, hot with clear blue skies all the way! Most definitely recommended.

Perfect location for peaceful exploration

We loved our 2 bedroom (king size bed & 1 set of small twin size beds) with 1 full bath. The room included a private patio and then had a large glass sliding door to the eat in kitchen and living room. Our oldest opted for the couch for a private space from her brother. The skylight was great for natural light. AC unit worked well as we cooled the space during day and didn't need to run it at night. Kitchen was well stocked as it had a few extras from the previous guests salt, salt, oil, vinager, plastic wrap. Plenty of dish detergent. the teenagers unplugged each night for the Foosball table. Breakfast is offered for 10 euros per person it was very plentiful as there was a variety of pastries and breads with homemade jams and jellies. Made to order eggs and a homemade vanilla yogurt along with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice. Half mile away was the bakery. Rarely heard anyone in the rooms around us. My favorite thing was sitting by the pool and listening to birds and nearby horses as this was on the edge of town and it was delightfully peaceful. Yet a short drive to Sete and its wonderful beaches and the larger city of montpellier. A true paradise.

Magnificent hotel

Reviewed By rebeccah767

This is such a stunning hotel. The artwork, the bar, the courtyard and the rooms are all magnificent. The location is in the heart of the old town and everywhere is within walking distance. We stayed in room 4.However, we had to be moved the following day, as it was very noisy and light. Our second room was room 8 which was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and professional. One downside , which is a little odd for a hotel of this class , is that they use shower curtains instead of a glass panels in the shower area. Also the toilet seat didn’t match the WC. All in all we would return and stay here again.

Great overnighter

We chose this hotel as an overnight stop on the way to Paris. So ideal for location next to the Gare but also easy walking distance to the centre of Montpellier and its parks and restaurants. The hotel staff were very helpful and the room was clean and tidy and a good size. French only tv but not a big deal. Would stay here again anytime we pass through as it was good value.

Nice B&B

Reviewed By MartaSPhilippe

Nice little B&B with only two rooms. We took the apartment, as it says it accommodates up to four people, it does but in very cramped conditions. The apartment is very cute but it is only for two people. The bathroom is beyond tiny, there is no space for anything except a toothbrush. We stayed for four nights, and there was not cleaning service. I know that is how B&B are, but still the doors open directly to a garden and to a stairs that are not very clean, so the apartment floor was very dirty very quickly, and it just uncomfortable to be like that for four days. Greg was nice, left us alone and in peace, we only sow him two times. If you have business in Castelnau it is a nice place to stay. But there is no much in the area, fortunately the light train stop is 10 minute walking and it goes directly to downtown Montpellier.

Accueil chaleureux

Reviewed By Bernard-Francoise84

A bientôt Beatrice. Bernard.
