Ruta del Veleta. Sierra Nevada.

We booked this restaurant at our hotels recommendation for Xmas day.
Beautiful setting with lovely decor. We found the menu to be very very expensive, not child friendly and strange combinations of food which didn't appeal. We were dressed casually, the waiter appeared unfriendly and somber, there were no other diners and I felt he thought we were unworthy of their restaurant! Not what we wanted so paid for drinks and left without eating.

Great and lovely place to see.
We were there over weekend for celebration of friends 18th b-day and it was amazing. Service was fabulous, food delicious, it is little bit expensive but worth it to spend there.
I can only recommend this restaurant when you are any close by.

A little bit more expensive than some others nearby but worth it. The service on arriving was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome.
Menu is small but good options. A good wine list.
I ordered the sirloin with duck, it was cooked perfectly. They also had daily specials, two of our group had these (tbone and tuna dishes), both of which were highly thought of.
If in the area and you are looking for a dining treat this place is well worth a visit.

We absolutely loved our meal at La Oliva, and cannot recommend this experience enough. A huge tasting menu with five accompanying wines, all for €38 each. There were only three parties in the room when we visited, including ourselves, and Fransisco took great care to describe everything he served, and to tell us how each dish was created and which areas of Andalucia the ingredients came from. We spent about two hours there, and came our absolutely stuffed!
Booking is essential, as this is not a restaurant as such - they only serve their tasting menu, by appointment only. We emailed Fransisco with the dates that we were visiting Granada, and he let us know when he could fit us in. I would strongly advise doing the same, as this is a meal not to be missed!

Had an evening meal here. Good food, good friendly service. Ample on-street parking outside.
I had Pork medallions with Roquefort sauce and sautéed potatoes which was excellent - good portion size, very well cooked. My girlfriend had Spanish Omelette as she is a Vegetarian. Came to €25 including drinks, tax and service, which is good value for the quality.

With close friends and family, we had our holiday lunch here. We were treated to great and hospitable service. All our meals were delicious. The dining area, while very large and spacious, was very warm and presented us with a fantastic view of the mountainsides. I have been back once since then to enjoy some beer and tapas.

Dinner time and full house? No problem, they set up an additional table for us immediately :-)
Following the recommendation we had the house wine - an excellent tinto, accompanied by delicious bruschetta, compliments from the kitchen. As suggested we tried as main courses their wonderful tuna steak and outstanding pork fillets with clams; this combo was a first for us and a wonderful surprise too, really good!
When we complimented the waiter and asked about the chef, our surprise ended: of course, cooking is done by his grandfather and he certainly does an outstanding job! From freshness of the ingredients, to presentation and definitely the taste!
The Taberna Hita is a little bit out of the way if you visit Granada, but for sure worth the short road trip!

Visited Viva Maria tonight after Reading reviews! Excellent choice. Owner explained menu for me in English. Had Mediterranean lasagne with leeks, courgettes etc followed by Orange and almond cake. Both delicious accompanied by a couple of glasses of red wine. Very reasonably priced. Lovely friendly service. Shall be back!

Best Tapas I've had since living in Spain. What is great about the tapas is the variety. From Morracan to Asian tapas and local cuisine, they were all tasty and authentic. The portions were great too. For ever drink purchased you get one tapa per person free and you can then order an extra one for €1.20. We had 3 drinks each resulting in 6 different delicious tapas all €24.20... Outstanding! I also recommend getting there before it opens because it will get packed! Highly recommended! Big shout out to one of the staff members Jorge he was so kind!

We ate here twice in the past 2 months. It was a great experience both times. If you stay at the bar or at the tables near the entrance, you will get free tapas with every drink, in addition to the food you order. You will not get the tapas if you sit at the dining room. All food was well prepared. The service was very attentive. The only problem is that the place is difficult to find (even with the aid of google maps!). I would say they offer excellent quality for the price they charge.
