Visited here today with our 6 year old daughter and we had a great time! We arrived just in time to catch the animal handling session so my daughter got to hold a snake (she was braver than us!), touch a tarantula and a millipede. Keith who was hosting the session was great with the kids and very knowledgeable.
My daughter loved seeing all the butterflies and was delighted that one of them seemed to like her and followed her around! You get a stamp on your hand when you go in and means you can leave and return if you want so we had a coffee in Dobbies next door before returning for another look round! Overall, fab place.

Arthur's Seat

Arthur's Seat is one of four hill forts, dating from around 2,000 years ago. Situated within Holyrood Park, as well as it's rich cultural heritage, the park offers walks, solace, wildlife, volcanic geology and unparalleled vistas of the city from its many vantage points. The park has several Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) designations due to its exceptional range of grassland habitats and its internationally important volcanic geology. Ranger service on site.

What a beautiful park! We got lucky with our weather in Scotland and had a beautiful sunny day for our hike to the summit.
We stupidly chose the shortest path to the summit (which means the steepest). It was doable even after recent knee surgery though the getting to the actual summit was a little more difficult for the knee (especially the way down). Especially since there isn’t a true path thru the volcanic rock at the very top. We aren’t in the best shape but didn’t find it overly strenuous.
After, we walked down the grassy hillside and enjoyed a nice walk around the park in the Sunshine.
We recommend going early (before 9/10am) so it’s nit overly crowded.
Great views from the top! One of our favorite memories from our trip!

Rosslyn Chapel

Rosslyn Chapel, dating back to 1446, is just seven miles from Edinburgh city centre and is open to visitors all year. The Chapel's setting and the mysterious symbolism of its ornate stonework have attracted and intrigued visitors for generations. A starring role in The Da Vinci Code propelled it into the international spotlight. There are countless theories, myths and legends associated with the Chapel and our tour guides will be able to tell you more about these, and the building's history, when you visit. Please note that photography inside the Chapel is not allowed but there are no restrictions on outside photography. New visitor centre with touch-screen technology, letting you see the carvings close up; gift shop and good coffee shop. Full details of how to get here and what to see and do is on our website.

This is an impressive chapel made famous by the da Vinci code by Dan brown. Thankfully it wasn't too busy when we went to visit but what was disappointing was the fact you couldn't take photos inside as it is so beautiful. Was also sad they didn't make more of the crypt. There were a couple of guides in the chapel but they were very busy talking to others and answering questions so we didn't get a chance to ask them anything so we resorted to buying the guide book. We also enjoyed playing and stroking the resident cat William!! The grounds are lovely and we got a few good photos outside in the rain.
Once we went back into the visitor centre there was a good area for children and our daughter enjoyed dressing up and colouring in. The shop is good with a wide selection of gifts and also there is a cafe but we didn't visit it. Really enjoyed the experience and can cross it off my bucket list!!

Have visited a good few trampoline parks over the last year or so and as far as my kids are concerned this is the best. Particularly as this is the one Park where my daredevil 11 year old can try out his tricks. Staff at the desk are very welcoming however perhaps those actually at the trampolines could engage with the kids a bit more and be a bit more vigilant - my 9 year old banged her head but no-one even noticed her coming back to me in tears. Only gets 3 stars due to lack of facilities for those watching - nowhere near enough tables, end up having to share which is not ideal and the cafe is set away from the viewing area - not easy having to carry tray of drinks with excited kids running about. £10 a head for an hour's jumping is pretty steep but seems to be about average when compared to other places. Finally not sure about the reasoning behind having to turn up 30 mins before the session as instructed on the website, 15 minutes would be adequate.
