My husband and i visited last night during a weekend in Glasgow, after Reading the reviews on TA. We were very impressed. The staff were lovely, attentive but not too in your face.
We dont eat meat and sometimes have a limited choice in restaurants. Our starter had a fancy name I cant remember but was small pasta parcels with truffle and hazelnuts and was delicious. I nearly licked the plate. The following courses were also very good.
All in all, a lovely wedding aniversary celebration. Thank you

Delicious, well cooked food and some of the best staff anywhere!!!
A leisurely Saturday lunch is always excellent at the Bella....friendly, welcoming and never rushed, just what a relaxing family meal should be.
The starters ... stuffed mushrooms in breadcrumbs served with salad and creamy mayo is always a hit with mum, the house pate is delicious served with hot buttered toast, salad and amazing onion jam and the pollo frito picante is so good again, served with salad and mayo dip ( normally served with a sweet chilli dip but the staff are happy to change it to mayo if you ask )
The mains were excellent... Danny is one mean chef - he and his staff serve some fabulous dishes.
On this visit I had the saltimbocca ... beautifully cooked and the wonderful flavour of whole sage leaves permeating the dish just added to the authenticity of the food- and although offered with potatoes, again, the staff happily changed it to rice for me.
The sauce was sweet, delicious and has a wonderful depth of flavour bringing the whole dish together perfectly.. a massive hit.
Husband opted for fish & chips and although not something he would normally order when out for lunch .. it is so good here that it has become a firm favourite with him... a large fillet of beautiful white flaky fish in crispy breadcrumbs, served with fluffy, crunchy chips and salad.. voted excellent.
Mum selected from the specials board.. a fabulous pasta dish that she really enjoyed but couldn't finish..it was massive!!!
Mum as always, insists on dessert and the special was caramel topped apple pie served with ice-cream.... which she devoured with gusto. In her opinion it was cooked to perfection, with light pasty base, sweet apple with a lovely tang and the most devine caramel topping which wasn't too sweet or syrupy.
A couple a great coffees ( a latte and a double strength flat white) were the perfect end to a lovely lunch.
A fab place, owned by the lovely Mimo, with service from some of the best staff you'll find anywhere and the added bonus of delicious, well thought out menus (make sure you check the daily "special" board for something a different that maybe not on the menu) Chef Danny and team .. please take a bow!!!
I would definitely advise booking a table in advance.. especially for larger parties as even early week, early evenings and lunchtimes can be in high demand.

We dined on a Saturday evening, having made a reservation a few days earlier. This is a small and popular restaurant.
We were warmly greeted by the restaurant manager we assumed and given a choice of where to sit.
Jackets were taken and we were quickly seated and given menus.
Bottled beers arrived quickly and then the difficult task of ordering started. What to choose from so many tempting dishes?
I eventually opted for the Handpicked Portland Crab with a Warm Crab Fritter followed by the Monkfish Satay with Thai Spiced Shrimp and Peanut Slaw and my partner went for the Seared Yellow Fin Tuna with Sesame Seeds, Pickled Ginger and Si Racha Mayonnaise followed by
Whole Tandoori Sea Bass with Curry Oil and Spiced Basmati Rice.
We thoroughly enjoyed each dish and returned empty plates.
The staff are friendly and efficient and we would happily return.
2 starters, 2 mains and 4 bottled beers came in at £74.10.

What just happened? In Glasgow for one night. Down the way from our hotel we found Mini Grill. Small little cozy place. It seemed like as soon as we arrived at-least another four tables filled up quickly. One waiter working but he really had a way of making every table happy. We passed on appetizers and ordered our meals. Waited a while but since we are on vacation it really didn’t bother us. Wow, when the meals came to our table we couldn’t believe how they looked. Are eyes were bigger than our stomachs! Each meal was perfectly prepared and we cleaned the plates! Can’t believe this place! What a gem, our best meal yet while in Scotland!

I had often passed this restaurant, but had never visited.
Then by chance, I noticed a Groupon voucher for two courses for 2 people.
I booked a table for 5pm, for my friend and I, before I was to drive him to the Airport.
We got there about 10 minutes early, and were shown to our table by the lovely Sally.
The voucher gave you the option of starter and main, or main and dessert.
Sally presented us with the Special Menu, which had only starters and mains, but she told us that if we wanted desserts, then she would show us the dessert menu after we had eaten our mains.
I selected the Texas Rancher Chicken Burger, whilst my friend Paul, opted for the Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli.
When the mains arrived, we were both stunned by the amount of food on our plates!!
My burger had a chicken fillet, with bacon and cheese, amazing fries and a nice side salad.
Paul had a massive bowl of pipping hot Ravioli.
Paul usually leaves a lot of food, but to my sheer amazement, he polished off the whole bowl! I think that if he had been in my flat, he probably would have licked the bowl clean!!
My burger was fantastic, and my fries were probably the best that I had ever tasted!
For desserts, Paul chose the Apple Pie and ice-cream, whilst I opted for the Waffle and ice-cream.
It was so typical, that I had left my phone in my car, otherwise I would have photographed all the food.
Fantastic food, well done Chef.
Amazing staff, well done Management.
The only thing that was wrong, was on asking Sally when the restaurant opened (2015), that I was kicking myself for not having visited sooner.
As a side note, Sally your choice of music was outstanding, I think that I will be buying a Belle and Sebastian CD in the near future.

Very central, lovely building, part church, part cafe. Food, mostly served by trainees, excellent. We had Moroca chicken soup, very tasty, plus scones. Art work, including Peter Howison painting, inside, sculpture outside. Social project, so you can also leave money to buy soup, hot drink for homeless person. Definitely one to support, and enjoy.

Cafe Strange Brew

Laid back dining in cosy and charming surroundings. Everything cooked fresh on the premise, using local and organic produce.

Reviewed By Ghriogair - Dunoon, United Kingdom

Looking through the windows of the Strange Brew Café, I can see a small room crammed with 30 something aspiring middle class types, beard, brogue and checked shirt brigade, who flock to this Café and will even sit politely, in a neatly ordered line, awaiting their chance to swallow the much vaunted cuisine.
As we know, the millennial generation will crawl over broken glass or fire at the merest whiff of a homemade brioche bun, dishes with fancy sauces, squirted on in little patterns, mixed with ephemeral dustings of fine spices or sugars? Specially flavoured foam or some light foraging for little heard of herbs send them into paroxysms of appreciation and Trip Advisor reviews? They also appear to get up a lot earlier than I do to launch themselves at any decent eating establishment in their dozens.
That's the third time I have arrived at the Café Strange Brew to find that all I get is a view of what might have been from the outside, a tiny glimpse of the anticipated culinary luxury within. Smugly seated diners taking their time. People queuing, necks craned forward like hungry Cormorants, poised to swoop on the next empty table.....
When did getting a meal become so competative? All I want is my breakfast on a Saturday morning? Can everyone stay away until after 11am please, go to Ikea or something until I have had my grub? Thanks.

Saturday lunch with my husband and mum was delicious.
After enjoying a complimentary platter of pompadoms, spiced onions and homemade mango chutney while we made our selection from the menu.
Our starters of Spiced garlic mushrooms with toasted pitta bread was devoured in record time by mum .. the other starters were an amazing chicken pakora.. a light and crispy corriander flecked coating served with salad and dipping sauce tasted wonderful and the gola kebabs tasted great they were succulent, moist and beautifully cooked.. and not a drop of oil to be seen or tasted..impressive !
And as delicious as the starters were, the main courses were even better .. the lamb naintara was incredible... it looks wonderful but it has a complexity of taste that hits so many different levels .. mouth-watering sweet tender slow cooked lamb in a thick fabulous sauce which is beautifully cooked with loads of wonderful earthy coriander and sweet garlic... an incredible dish.... all I can say is WOW and it is a must try!
The others had chicken tikka masala and voted it fabulous... loads of tender chiken in a rich, creamy and mid range spiced sauce. We had a couple of portions of fluffy, fried rice and a wonderful toasted garlic and corriander nan... It was inpossible to finish it all ..and believe me we did try. And not a single drop of the horrible orange coloured oil/ghee that seems to be the norm in so many other dishes served elsewhere!
Mum always has a dessert so it was time for the wonderfully rich warm chocolate cake served with a rich, dark chocolate sauce and icecream... now this, she did finsh along with a fab. coffee.
A bottle of house red, a couple of vodka and cranberry and 2 soft drinks made fof a wonderful and satisfying lunch.
We even had enough food left over that the staff boxed it up to bring home and they added some pompadoms and spiced onion as well.
The other added bonus are the staff.. They so friendly and welcoming..
