Have been to Dalhousie twice earlier but third time got lucky to get myself a room at Grand view. This hotel which is located right at the starting of Dalhousie is a mix of heritage and modern property. The best part is heritage block of this hotel too boasts of all modern facilities.
We were a group of 4 friends and we stayed in garden view suite plus a garden view room. The view infact was truly majestic and i think there is not any other property in Dalhousie which has such beautiful view of the Pir Panjal mountain range. Rooms especially the suite was very spacious with seperate living/drawing room. Inspite of the harsh winter it was very cosy inside and no need was felt to switch on the heater (they even had electric blankets below bedsheets in the rooms)
Coming to other attractions of this hotel they have an entertainment centrr which has several indoor games including Table tennis, pool table, play station etc. They even organise Tambola and other activities for the guest.
As far as food is concerned their buffet spread is quite sumptuous and has extensive range as compared to other hotels in Dalhousie (do not forget to taste the Gulabjamun and special home made pie during dinners at Grand view). I still remember last time i stayed at JK Clark's Exotica and buffet was a huge disappointment instead of such high tariffs.
Another best part of Grand view is the special care and attention given to the guests by the owners. We were amazed to see Renu Chadha (the owner) who inspite of her age is still so energetic and whether its being anchor at Tambola on 6th floor or checking quality of food being served to guests at restaurant she is always part of the action.
At last do not look anywhere else, if you are going to Dalhousie do not think twice, Grand view is the only place to be.

It's one of the snacking junctions in Dalhousie. Reading the reviews I tried the veg grilled Sandwich.. Which was not up to my expectations.. Also tried fish and chips... Which were good.. In totality a good option .. When you have a very limited options

This restaurent is easily missed in view of its location below the road level. Though appears very small from outside is reasonably big inside. The best part is this is a pure vegetarian restaurent. However, hygiene levels appear poor and quality of food not so great.

Located at Subhash Chowk,this restaurant's strength lies in its reasonable costing Punjabi dishes which we loved.It offers bengali, gujarati and Chinese food, too. We ordered Chicken Biryanis. What earned my respect for the people managing was that on a day when it was raining heavily and all the lights had gone off due to a storm and we were wondering whether we would be sleeping on an empty stomach,we ordered takeaway food at our Airbnb place,Bali's Villa and they delivered it in PITCH DARKNESS.

Its a good looking cafe no doubt, but service is WORST and they don't even bother accepting their mistake. Our family kept waiting for One Hour while server kept providing to other guests who came much later after our arrival, without heeding our request even after multiple follow-ups.
Worst service and seemed like they were ignoring our family. Never going to arrive here again. Would advise the same to other people visiting Dalhousie. Dont go on just looks.

This is a warm, clean and cozy restaurant. We just had masala tea and Sandwich here, though the menu offered many options. The reception has some old photos of the Dalhousie in the 19th century. Priced moderately, this is a good stopover to have snacks. Probably your best bet in Subhash Chowk area.

It's been almost a year now.. The taste of their sandwiches is still on my tongue.. Had a toast Sandwich here in chilled morning a year ago and I couldn't resist to order one more.. It is so light on pocket.
This place is only for snacks and not for meals. It is exactly in front of bus stop.
You can also buy some Himalayan pickles, jams etc. To gift to your friends..
