El Hornito s 1st review. This is Mexican comfort food. Pay at counter. Lots of drink choices. The food is plentiful with solid portion sizes. You know ethnic restaurants are above average to excellent quality when people of that ethnicity are frequenting the establishment. The prices are very reasonable. The service was accommodating and turn around time was quick. I wish El Hornito all the best. There is also a Mexican Super Mercado next door!

I don't usually do fast food... was in a hurry and stopped in the taco bell... the food was - well --- taco bell quality... as good as any but nothing special.What WAS special was the attitude and approach by every employee in the place... they were "on their game" from start to finish... Very impressive... Many "upscale" places could learn many a lesson from the young people working in this location --

We went to El Toro last night to try it out. We are new to the area and are looking for our "favorite" Mexican restaurant. This is a busy place, lots of folks there eating. We were seated right away. Had a fabulous waiter. My hubby ordered "Steak A La Tampiquena", a favorite of his. The meat was extremely tough and had lots of fat and grizzle. It was seasoned well and everything else that came with it was great. He had grilled onions, refried beans, rice and the "salad" that came with it had pico, guacamole, shredded cheese, a couple tortillas. But the steak itself was extremely disappointing. I ordered "Texas Fajitas" which is a steak, chicken, shrimp combo with cooked onions and peppers. It was excellent. Large shrimp. 3 tortillas came with it which was really not enough to hold all the meal. But, the "add ons" that come with a fajita was not great; lots of lettuce, refried beans, rice, guacamole, hardly a couple tablespoons of sour cream but no pico or shredded cheese! I "stole" from my hubby's plate to get cheese and pico. Who has fajitas without cheese, pico and maybe sour cream?! We both felt the rice was bland and tasteless. So, overall, some excellent stuff, but on the other hand, some really bad (steak) and disappointing (not the correct add-ons for the fajitas). Will we try again - maybe. My hubby said he will never order that steak again there. And if I were to order a fajita again, I would be definite on what I wanted/needed as add-ons for the fajitas. Would we recommend? Yes, with caution. Be choosy, carefully order, be specific.

Fresh, homemade Mexican food served in a friendly atmosphere. We've driven by General Pancho's several times but didn't try it until reading some pretty good reviews. It's a family run restaurant and the owners are eager to please. The corn and flour tortillas used in the tacos and quesadilla's we ordered were delicious. Fresh tasting carnitas and beef with a delicious salsa verde on the side. The lunch specials are a bargain. We will definitely go back when we are hungry for Mexican food. There is also a large display case of breads and sweets. The chef/owner was more than willing to describe some of the items in the bakery case.

Replaced Fiesta Cancun location. Fresh Mexican Cuisine. Generous portions. Chips and salsa made in the morning, perfect! House Margaritas are made with gold tequila. Personal preference, we prefer the gold for flavor. Happy hour is $3.00 off the medium Margarita. At $5.50 which I believe is a fare price for the Margarita. Service is outstanding. The staff had 2 servers, 1 delivering chips & salsa, 1 runner & a bar tender. Very well organized!There is a children's menu also. Enjoyed the atmosphere & able to hear and share in a conversation in this busy restaurant.

Came to relax on patio for taco Tuesday with a beer or margarita...Showed up to only two other tables on patio filled and asked server if I could just take whatever seat-proceeded to wait 15 minutes to be served while servers came and went and I looked in window while waiting for my husband. Finally a totally different server saw me and got me a drink and he ended up being a good server overall, so that helped save the evening. Had beef tacos and queso dip and chips, all was alot blander than we remembered and hardly any meat on the tacos-hardly worth the $1.25 each special. And we were given a margarita on the rocks when we wanted a frozen one and we were told it was peach and it was clearly strawberry, but by then we were frustrated. Overall we were disappointed and probably will not return.
