Celebrating a 93rd birthday with a very, very large family is not an easy task between the birthday girl and the clan that we blame her for (Mom). Gus and Us does the task easily and deliciously. Large pans of food were enjoyed and consumed and everything was ready at the time we requested at a price point that was fair to them and to us. Good catering in addition to good food when dining in.

This long established restaurant has the formula for longevity; delicious food at reasonable prices without a bunch of frills. The wife never deviates from ordering the Cafe Lemon Chicken she says is the best she has ever had, as do many others. I ordered the Mixed Grill (chicken kabob and shish kafta) and was extremely satisfied. The salad was fresh with tasty homemade dressing. The decor is clean and nice but not elaborate. The waitstaff is friendly and very efficient. They have limited hours, 11:00 am to 6:30 pm. The colas are served in cans and no alcohol. No website that I could find. They do not accept credit cards. They never advertise, no need to; the place is always packed.

Service was great, order taken quickly and correctly, server was very personable and attentive, food arrived quickly. I ordered the breakfast special which is just average. My hashbrowns were dry, almost burnt, but my husband's were mushy, undercooked. Doesn't seem like it should be so difficult an item to cook. My eggs were fine, but they were just scrambled. Toast was hard like they used old bread and had a clump of butter in the middle. Didn't see any improvements from our last visit. This is still a place to get a decent meal quickly. .

We were visiting relatives in the area and they took us here for lunch. What a great meal. Everything was done to perfection. We tried a few appetizers and all were amazing. The saganaki/flaming cheese was excellent. Also tried a couple different dips. One was a mashed garlic spread and the other was a thick soup like spread made from tomato sauce, chilli peppers and feta cheese and some finely minced vegetables. All were served with warm pita bread and were to die for. The lamb chops and chicken cutlets are second to none. We also had the thin fried potatoes. For an excellant meal try this place. You won't be disappointed.Thank you for the great review, Fred! We're so glad you dined with us during your visit and I'm happy to hear that everything was so enjoyable. We appreciate your compliments and hope to see you again next time you're in town!

Dined here for the first time during a busy weekday lunch period. Server was nice, but slow with my companion's meal coming out first with quite a delay. When my chicken pita sandwich arrived, the cheese was not melted and mayo use was excessive. Fries were incredibly greasy and not very hot. I love Detroit area coney establishments yet there are other chains offering up far better quality food in my opinion.
