Thanks to TripAdvisor I found Anita's Kitchen while attending a training class in the Detroit suburbs. I love Mediterranean food, but Anita's Kitchen serves some of the best I've had in the states. I brought along two classmates from my class, one of whom had never tried Mediterranean food before. With the help of Anita's great food, I believe we have won over a new "convert". We thoroughly enjoyed the stuffed grape leaves, both the plain and jalapeno hummus, and tabbouleh for appetizers. We were grateful that our server James D. guided us to the proper sizes to order (the small plates of apps easily satisfy 4 people). We also enjoyed the chicken shawarma for our main course. It was a great experience overall. Our only wish was that we lived close enough to visit again!

We took the "kids" out for their anniversary dinner, their choice of restaurant and it was a great one. This is a new restaurant located in a strip mall on the South side of 14 Mile Road. You have to look for this place but believe us it is worth looking for!Everything is freshly made on site and outstanding. The hummus has excellent not overbearingly strong and the garlic sauce unreal. All four of us had different main courses...the lamb tender and seasoned just right. The soups lentil and a lamb based one were great. Yes, this is part of the Royal family of restaurants that has restaurants in Hamtramck and West Land. The owner, manager, waiter could not have been nicer and more helpful. Portions are large and sharable, we left with part of our meals in carryouts.

Not bad at all and I'm pretty picky about middle eastern food as nothing beats home made. I had a salad and the chicken/hummus plate. It's a large portion, which I got with rice and it also had some veggies. Friendly and fast service too.
