The bacon wrapped meatloaf, Croque Madame sandwich and Aha Tuna Salad were favorites with our family. However the pan seared scallop was not worth the price, the one scallop with surf and turf option was a better deal. Service was slow to start due to a busy Friday night and one waiter was a no show. That initial service needs to be faster for drinks, however the food was delivered very promptly. Our family would try this restaurant again since we enjoyed the different food options. Strongly recommend to the management to get your wait staff to the tables sooner.

We've stayed at the Country Inn and Suites next door several times, but this was the first time we've had dinner here. We were surprised to see the bowling alley inside. We had had a long day and really didn't take time to explore everything. The restaurant is large and designed to mimic inside a mine shaft. There's a bar area and lots of tvs turned on to different sports channels.A Tuesday night in early May isn't very busy. The area is so large we didn't even realize there was a large group in another section Our service was good. We never felt rushed. Our server was also training a server. We're sure this place is hopping when Tech is in session and Summer tourists or Winter snowmobilers are in town. Our food was very good and hot. My design your burger was perfect. We both tried their special, house fries. They fry slices of baked potato. Definitely a good change from regular fries.Google Map this, if you're going for the first time or find the Country Inn and Suites. It's right next door. Definitely include this in your trip.Thank you for your positive feedback. Our goal here at the MineShaft/RockHouse (MSRH) is to insure that our guests have a great experience. I’m happy to hear that your experience was nothing less then excellent. Next time you’re in town be sure to stop in and see us! Thank you!

Celebrating a birthday, it's nice to have a place like this with a relaxed atmosphere, good food, reasonable prices, and friendly service. The ravioli is excellent, but salads, sandwiches and other offerings are just as good. My kids like the buffalo wings. They had a burst water line behind the bar, but the barmaids and waitstaff handled it in stride and had a good laugh. We were lucky enough to be at a table so stayed dry the whole time.

The lasagna portion was huge- could have fed 2 or small family. My wife's salad was very good also. The Gazpacho soup had a great fresh flavor (cold by design) Garlic toast was served with the meal. The featured drink Armarotto Sour hit the spot . Service was attentive and timely.

We were visiting the area for Winter Carnival since our daughter is a freshman at Michigan Tech. We came in on Saturday for lunch. The place was only about half full. We ordered sandwiches and waited, and waited..... It took almost an hour to get our order. The food was just okay. I ordered a BLT and it had two pieces of bacon on it. The whole sandwich was less that an inch thick, including the bread. The only thing that was good were the french fries. We will not return.

We spent the day on the Keweenauw Peninsula and after driving back from the beauty across "the bridge", we drove back into Houghton looking for a nice cooked meal. We settled on the Ambassador because of the variety of food there. We got the pizza and loved it, sat at a big window looking out over the canal, and just soaked up the energy of this popular hangout - lots of young people (presumably from Michigan Tech) really made the place fun and lively. Our waitress was cute and friendly and made us feel welcome and answered all our questions about how to pronounce the unpronouncable UP names... great place to stop you will not be disappointed!

This place is fantastic. The beer selection is quite diverse and the beers are great. To top it off ... only $3.00 per pint of brew. Don’t miss visiting the Keweenaw Brewery. The Pizza joint next door will deliver to you at the bar; fantastic. Enjoy ‼️
