Montego Mermaid Beach Motel is a family owned motel in the heart of the Gold Coast region situated approx half an hour from the Gold Coast Domestic/International Airport and within a short 5 min drive to Surfers Paradise. Approx 50 metres from the Mermaid Beach with many great restaurants within walking distance and public transport is easy to catch with bus stops only metres from the entrance. Theme parks are within easy access via public transport or we can arrange shuttle pick up. Local supermarkets nearby for your shopping needs. An onsite cafe for guests to enjoy a light breakfast or brunch.
Horrible Customer Service, Decieving and Dirty Facilities
Reviewed By Ella BI am deeply disappointed and disgusted my the service I received at Montego Mermaid Beach Motel. I chose to stay at the Montego Mermaid Beach Motel because of its recent renovations that are displayed all over its website. I even spared extra money to upgrade to a superior double room with a balcony. When I arrived, my partner and I stood at reception waiting to be greeted for several minutes. We had to call out to be have someone come and see us for check in. The woman looked like she was too busy watching TV to be greeting her guests. This was not a good start for us. When we arrived to our room we were horrified that our room was nothing like it was pictured on the website. We saw photos of wooden floors, comfy new couches, newly painted walls and tidy kitchen spaces. Our room was the complete opposite. It was covered in old, dirty-stained carpet which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. There was old furniture, no decoration to the point it felt very dark and depressing and my allergies were playing up from dust-mites after 15 minutes of arrival. I specifically requested to have wooden floors in my comments when booking and this was not honoured. I was deeply upset and had to leave the motel immediately. I tried to call reception and the lady on the phone was argumentative and unwillingly to help. I requested to move rooms and was refused and spoken down to like a child. She was not interested in helping me or did not care about the quality of my stay. I told her I had horrible allergies to the room and could not stay there. Due to my requests being ignored and be feeling so uncomfortable about staying there, I asked to be refunded and to check out to which she refused a refund. I was in tears after our conversation and have never felt so disrespected due to such a poor level of customer service. I was so upset I decided to book another hotel to stay at the night as my whole weekend felt ruined. My partner and I were looking forward to this week to celebrate our five-year anniversary. I ended up having to pay another $250 at another hotel where I received excellent value for my money. To top off such a horrible experience already, I immediately checked out after I booked a new hotel, and half an hour later, my exact room was advertised on booking.com again with vacancy for the same night. It was booked within the hour. Not only was I refused a refund, the motel kept my money and received quite the profit in having someone else pay again. They wouldn’t of even had time to clean the room. I would like to be contacted from both the motel management and booking.com about this disgusting and disappointing visit. I will be spreading my review on all possible platforms until I receive appropriate compensation and a refund for this experience.

Reviewed By 198mrssPros- kids club, wood fire pizza, location Cons- mouldy musty room, no lifts have to drag suitcases up for 2nd and 3rd floor rooms, thin blanket, uncomfortable bed, stained carpet, stains on lounge, kitchen and bathrooms dirty, cockroaches everywhere, broken shower cubical, only get 2 rolls of toilet paper, tiny dishwashing liquid, no maid service or fresh towels, unless you stay for 9 nights. Sliding door locked broken. Carpark only designed for tiny cars, make you drive, enter and exit on the opposite side of the road to normal car parks. Will never stay here again. Over $1K for a week and we’ve had to seek medical help and buy supplies to treat our respiratory systems.

Reviewed By HarleyslaveOlder style motel with very tight parking. The manager is very friendly doing his best with what he has to work with. I think it was overpriced for what you get. Room was very dark as the blinds were down but couldn’t be rolled up unless you wanted to lose your privacy. Building needed attention for basic maintenance. Great location, good choice of restaurants close by. Close to the beach.

Small boutique style Motel, suitable for anyone looking for Reserved off-street parking and easy access to our ground level rooms. You will be 5 minutes walk to the pristine Nobbys Beach & Shopping Village with plenty of Restaurants & Coffee Shops. North & Southbound public buses are within a couple minutes walk of the Motel. No privacy and rude manager

We (my 1 y.o. child and I) touched a bird statue just outside reception and straight out the manager came out and yelled at us very spitefully, ‘don’t touch anything! Respect our property!’. It made us feel sooo bad. It was a terrible experience for us. The room also smelt of strong disinfectant which made us feel sick. The bed blanket was synthetic material and hot.

Reviewed By daisybunnyMy partner and I had a Christmas party to attend and decided to get a room here as a place to crash as it was a lot more convenient and cheaper than getting an Uber home. We didn’t expect much for the price we paid but it definitely exceeded our expectations. The rooms were really clean and the staff were super friendly, welcoming and kindly allowed us to park two cars as we had both driven separately straight from work. Really great location too right across the road from Pacific Fair and right by the beach. Would definitely stay here again.
