Almost entirely destroyed during the Civil War, Meridian was rebuilt between 1890 and 1930 in a boom known as "The Golden Age." This legacy still stands, leaving the city with not just one, but nine registered historic districts. Attractions include the carefully restored Highland Park Dentzel Carousel, dating back to 1909 and still offering rides for just fifty cents each, and the Hamasa Shrine Temple Theater, featuring a massive 778 pipe organ that is one of only two still in existence.

Love Drury Inn

We checked in after dinner was done but they let us bring pizza into the dining area and eat. The employees are super nice and helpful, asking if we need anything. The indoor/outdoor pool was awesome. The lobby and sitting areas were very modern yet comforting. Breakfast was great, a variety of plentiful food and staff helping. The Drury Inn is 100% customer focused and reminds me of the old days when hotels took care of guests. I can't say anything negative and we found our favorite hotels.

The pet policy is very vague and when asked, the staff are just rude and say no making it feel the misunderstanding is your fault. Noisy, will not be staying again. Staff was not welcoming at all. Doors slammed, could hear foot steps all night.

My wife and I have made Hilton's Hampton Inn chain our hotel of choice as we travel for the past few years. Of course, there are variations between locations. On our recent trip from Texas to New Jersey, we stayed at 5 different Hampton Inns. This location in Meridian, however, is the best Hampton Inn we have had the pleasure to enjoy. The hotel was impeccably clean, the entire staff was friendly, our room was great with everything in perfect working order, a very nice fitness area with all the equipment in fine shape, a very ample hot breakfast area, great coffee and a nice pool area. A very nice additional touch was their Happy Hour that served beer, wine, sodas and provided snacks. We haven't experienced that Happy Hour at any other Hampton Inn. Kudos Hampton Inn Meridian for a job so very well done!

This is one of the cleanest nicest hotels I've ever been in and I've stayed in a large range from motel 6 all the way to fancy hotels with bell Boys and valet parking. The room was laid out in such a way that you didn't get the light from the door and the window had black out curtains with velcro to keep all light out, the heat and air unit was a constant quiet fan just perfect for those of us who sleep with a fan for noise. The bed was comfortable and it even had a small sectional that looked new I usually don't sit on hotel furniture but this was actually clean. The TV was huge and the room was so quiet best nights sleep I've had in a hotel. The only con I can find (and this isn't something the hotel can change) but it isn't in the best neighborhood, just be sure you're in the hotel at a decent hour there are "ladies of the night" and other sketchy characters walking the streets.

Overall, nice hotel for our overnight stay. Our room was huge and had a refrigerator, microwave, and a Keurig coffeepot. They were out of regular coffee pods, so only the driver got real coffee. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom could use wall paper repair, but everything else was good. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We got happy hour drinks but did not try the restaurant.
