Most wonderful stay on our travels!!!!!

Reviewed By Cconnor12

My husband and I have been traveling throughout Northern California and decided to stay here on our way to the Redwoods. Boy are we glad we did!! We stayed in the King spa room with ocean views. We got to enjoy a wonderful dinner steps away at the cutest pier restaurant. After dinner we enjoyed the most exquisite sunset right from our balcony and spa tub. The room was extremely clean and they didn’t forget a single detail. We slept so well on their comfortable bed too! We’re hoping to catch them again on our return trip south. Book the room. It’s worth it in more ways than one!! Can’t beat the price, either!

Great location near beautiful beach, awesomely dog friendly

Reviewed By Ernie S

In years and tens of thousands of miles of traveling with our dogs all across the country we found this to be one of the most dog friendly places. Super friendly and helpful staff, great walking trail adjacent to the beach, dog friendly beach and, are you kidding me?, its own dog park and rooms with doggie-door access. We will definitely be back to beautiful Fort Bragg, Pudding Creek Beach and this wonderful place to stay with our pets.

Check in went well the gentleman at the front desk was welcoming and professional. The room was clean and the view was great my wife and I loved that you could walk down the stairs to the restaurants below that had amazing food. The night shift employee at the front desk was a true gentleman and helpful for 1:00am. When it was time to check out 2 ladies at the front desk neither were welcoming one looked legitimately busy and the other with a henna tattoo was having trouble checking me out. She couldn’t find my name and was rude about it the other lady had to stop what she was doing and spotted it as she was walking up the screen then she seamed confused with a sassy attitude why I was checking out a day early that experience was enough for me to not return it felt like discrimination and left me confused because everyone we came across in fort Bragg was nice beyond belief

Beautiful location - great property!

Reviewed By Margaret S

I always read Trip Advisor reviews to set my expectations for a property. Ocean View Lodge is an absolutely wonderful property, particularly if you set your expectations. It's not the Ritz Carlton. It's a great, family-owned, small-town motel. We had a second-floor king with jacuzzi and fireplace. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The pillows were comfortable. The bath products were nice and there were plenty of towels. There was a microwave, refrigerator, and Keurig in the room. There is no a/c, but this isn't a problem. Get a fan from the office and open the door! It's on the ocean and it doesn't get very hot. There isn't a breakfast service. Go less than a half mile down the road and eat at Denny's. The rooms are dated. So what? It's clean, clean, clean, and I don't tend to spend time thinking about the age of a toilet.. It's quiet. It's peaceful. We had a great time. We will go back if we ever get to the Northern California Coast again. Great experience partially because I read the reviews and set my expectations!

Exceptional customer service and beautifully cleaned rooms

After experiencing terrible customer service at another local Inn & Suites we ended up at Holiday Inn Express Fort Bragg. It was a last minute change and we needed a room to accommodate 3 adults for a multiple nights stay on a busy Memorial weekend holiday. And after explaining our frustrating experience and need to Marietta at Holiday Inn Express Fort Bragg she went above and beyond to release a room to us. And during her shift our first night there she continued to attend to all our needs with a friendly and upbeat attitude. Thereafter, the rest of the hotel staff were timely in meeting all our needs during our entire stay. As a frequent traveler whose stayed at many different hotels this experience with Holiday Inn Express at Fort Bragg has converted me to choose Holiday Inn first for all my future travel needs. Thanks Marietta for making our family vacation weekend a joy! Kudos to Holiday Inn Express Fort Bragg for having such an exceptional staff member like Marietta on your team.

Don’t stay here

Reviewed By Lyn G

This hotel advertises as pet friendly. It’s not. They have only a few rooms they allow pets in and you have to specifically make a reservation for one of those when you book. We had a three night reservation and were not offered any option by the “family friendly” manager for having a dog with us on a weekend when every other place was full. It was suggested one of us could sleep in the car with the dog. On behalf of dog owners everywhere, take this off the pet friendly list.

great location to visit glass beach

Reviewed By Samantha P

This is a great hotel for the location to glass beach and downtown Fort Bragg. Everyone was friendly. The rooms are older but clean. We were delayed arriving and the hotel was closed by the time we were here to check in. We were fortunate that I had called ahead and was told to go the Beachcomber next door to check in after 10:30. Not sure I would have figured that out on my own in the dark. Also no breakfast I was told due to covid. There are plenty of places to go for breakfast though! Overall great place to stay especially to visit glass beach!

A coastal treasure

Reviewed By L1636GMchris

What a cool place to stay in the heart of Mendocino. We stayed in the Llama Cottage which is about a half mile north of the main property so can't speak to the inn too much. However, the cottage was nestled in a cute corner of a small neighborhood complete with its own semi-private yard and hot tub. The room was in great shape and everything was clean and well taken care of. You're a short drive into downtown Mendocino and two beautiful local beaches. Plus the cottage is dog friendly which is very hard to find! I only knocked the room by 1 point as one side of the bed was dipped quite a bit when lying towards the edge of the mattress on one side. I think if the mattress was flipped this would probably have resolved it. Otherwise, the bed was comfy and the room was spacious. Heads up that there is no A/C in this unit which, while it wasn't really a problem for us but, on a hot day could be a bit uncomfortable. During our stay the temperature was just fine. Nitpicks aside, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay and we will definitely stay there again in the future.
