Takoma Park is a city in Montgomery County, Maryland. It is a suburb of Washington, D.C., and part of the Washington metropolitan area. Founded in 1883 and incorporated in 1890, Takoma Park, informally called "Azalea City", is a Tree City USA and a nuclear-free zone. A planned commuter suburb, it is situated along the Metropolitan Branch of the historic Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, just northeast of Washington, D.C., and it shares a border and history with the adjacent neighborhood of Takoma, Washington, D.C. It is governed by an elected mayor and six elected councilmembers, who form the city council, and an appointed city manager, under a council-manager style of government. The city's population was 16,715 at the 2010 national census.

I stopped in for a late lunch of lentil soup (nicely pureed with lemon and assorted spices) and an order of Hummous with lamb. The Hummous was fine, but the pieces of lamb were a tiny bit tough, and the overall taste was too heavy on oil and salt. My waitress was excellent, and the small dining area was comfortable and mostly quiet.

I donât usually get to eat something for the first time, but this was definitely a first for me... scrumptiously delicious Afghan food and incredibly friendly service! This place is always packed but we were lucky to be able to catch an early reservation for Sunday brunch. Highly recommended!

I was in town for a conference, and ended up eating at this restaurant several times, bc...it is that good! The service is absolutely wonderful and the food is amazing-fresh, tasteful, and quality. The hummus has an amazing texture and the chicken kebabs have great flavor
