Everything was freshly made and delicious. I had Cuban pananni sandwich with side salad. My daughter had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and collard greens. My son had the shrimp and chicken chorizo pasta. All great. Atmosphere was fun.

My family and I visited Café Berlin on an October Saturday evening, after securing a reservation on-line. We arrived to a partially-filled restaurant, not as busy as I would have expected, looking forward to a memorable German dinner.Overall, the experience was good, not great. We ordered beers, wine, a pretzel appetizer, and then individual entrees, finally settling on desserts to split between us.What was good?⢠Ambiance â laid-back, small restaurant with seating inside and outside. It was nice to dine in a restaurant where we could actually hear each other and have a conversation without shouting.⢠The pretzel appetizer â yum!⢠The desserts.What we did not enjoy?⢠Our waiter seemed completely untrained on how to pace a meal. He visited our table three times while we were looking over the menu, each time seeming confused that we were not ready to order. When we did order drinks, it took a long time for them to come. Service was OK, but not professional â more like service in a Jersey diner.⢠Misrepresented wine on the menu â we ordered a bottle of reisling and on the menu, it referenced that it was a one liter bottle. When it arrived, it was a 750 ml bottle and when I pointed that out to the waiter, he made no effort to check or apologize.⢠Schweinekrustenbraten Café Berlin Art â a signature entrée during Oktoberfest, but the pork was way, way overcooked â dry, tasteless, tough, not appealing at all.Perhaps we hit on an off-night there, which is unfortunate since it was my first time there. Not sure if weâll go backâ¦

We had a party of 7 for a celebration dinner. Food was delicious. Dishes were creative and artfully plated. Several in our party were "meat eaters" and they enjoyed the vegan food too. Service was good. Only complaint is that you should offer serving utensils when dishes are ordered to be shared. We indicated that we were going to share everything when we placed our order. As a result of no serving spoons and using personal forks to move portion onto our plates, we also shared sickness. I've suffered from a long lasting cold and cough as a result of sharing small plates. How difficult is it to offer your guests a serving spoon, especially when it is a large party and not a romantic couple.
