I'm reading all the FB posts on "I'm so Baltimore...." and this would be my posting: "I'm so Baltimore (Parkville/Towson) that I only buy crabs and seafood at Don's Crabs."My daughter insisted on a crab feast for her birthday. Don's provided HUGE, meaty, well-seasoned steamed crabs exactly on time. They have specials (we got buy a dozen females, get a dozen free on Wednesday) and the half-bushel of males were reasonably priced. They have paper and hammers if you need them, and very friendly staff. Clean too!Plenty of parking and not far from the Beltway. They even have a couple of outdoor picnic tables if you want (hey, if you gotta have them right then....)We were VERY pleased and there are several eat in/take out crab offerings within blocks; we will be ordering from here a lot!

This is a typical area Seafood Counter Carry-Out. They sell very well done seafood and are noted for crabs by the dozen. While I was there numerous folks were getting steamed crabs and picking up various seafood items for lunch. I got a very properly prepared fried shrimp sandwich. Very well done with home made chips as an included side. The shrimp was butterflied and made from shrimp from the case. They were not boxed fried shrimp commercially prepared. The side salads I purchased were done well and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely come back.Thank you so much for the excellent review! We hope to see you again soon!

In town on business and have to say - I was impressed. Mandy and the entire service team - shucker included - made sure every need was covered. The menu and specials gave me lots of options, and everything I had was either excellent or very good. The Maryland Crab Soup was terrific and all food was served in a timely manner. Cocktails and prices were very good. The pickled onions served with oysters was a nice touch. Thanks Mandy! We’re so glad that you stopped in to join us! We could not be happier to hear that Mandy took fantastic care of you, and that your overall experience was exceptional! Thanks for the awesome pictures! We hope that you’ll think of us if you’re ever in the area for business again, and we truly appreciate your kind words and incredible rating. Hope to see you again! Cheers, Nick Liberatore

My wife and I wanted to see a movie that was only available at a location that we usually don't frequent.Afterwards , I went on Open Table to find a restaurant close to us and made a reservation at Valentino's. What a terrific experience!!! A vary large restaurant, with an excellent menu. The server was excellent. They have a rather large menu to chose from and it leans towards Italian and Greek dishes although it also has crab cakes. The choices we had were both prepared perfectly. The Penne Carbonara had Bacon, mushrooms, parsley, penne with heavy cream, grated cheese & extra virgin olive oil.The Italian Holiday platter was Lasagna, Fettuccine Alfredo and Chicken Parmigiana. The waitress brought us an amazing selection of desserts to chose from but we had no room left. I look forward to our next visit.Thank you for sharing your experience with the TripAdvisor community. It means a lot when guests take time to leave a thoughtful review, and a gesture like this does not go unnoticed. If there's anything you need during a future visit, don't hesitate to reach out. I wasn't expecting much when my son suggested this spot for lunch. The building is on a down on it's luck stretch on Belair Rd. and is nothing fancy. Parking lot full of pot holes.Nonetheless, the food was very good. I started with a half-half soup: traditional Maryland Crab Soup, full of veggie, floating on top of Cream of Crab. Loads of crab meat. The soft shell sandwich was excellent. Fries dusted with Old Bay. Cold Natty Boh on draft. Ah, yes. The Land of Pleasant Living, indeed.

My husband and I were part of a large group here for a buffet lunch in a private room following a funeral. Beverages were available when we first arrived however I wish they were served in a larger glass. The ones offered only held about 8 oz. which isn't much when you have ice added to them, therefore requiring constant refills. The food was average - rolls, salad, baked chicken, lasagna and green beans. Desserts were good - a couple different types of cake and cheesecake. But the main problem was the temperature in the room. When you know a large group is coming you need to lower the temperature on a 90 degree plus day. The back of the room where we were seated was very warm and the overhead fan did not work. Many of our family members went to the bar to cool off, which took them away from reminiscing about the deceased family member with family. We are going to pass on coming back for dinner on our own.We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear your time was not as it should be. We hope you will change your mind and come back to give us another try soon.

Koco's Pub

Thanks to all the tripadvisor reviews we ended up going down to Baltimore for one night from Hershey, PA. Our quest was for the best crab cake and our mission was accomplished.Location is outside of Baltimore close to Morgan State in a little neighborhood corner bar. I love corner bars so it was right up my alley. Parking was hard to find - FYI.Now my wife and I lived in Delaware for a few years and would drive down to the Inner Harbor a few times a month. Love the Italian area and Fell's point. Have been eating Maryland Crabs and Crab Cakes for over 20 years. Used to go to Obrickys (??) before they closed down around 10 years ago, maybe more? Anyway, Koco's crab cakes are the best hand's down we have ever had. They are an 11 ounce softball size ball of 95% crab meat with 5% breaded filler to hold them together. Now they are expensive until you put into perspective:1 - they are huge and one crab cake is enough for two people. That said I would never share mine :)2- some things are worth and these are! My wife made a very good point when we were debating to order 6 to take home! She said you know you pay $25 for a lobster roll on a small hot dog bun and little lobster meat, so true. Plus we like Crab better then Lobster anyway. We were going to give two crab cakes to our neighbors across the street and two to the neighbors right next to use becuase we all have dinner/drinks at each others houses routinely. We ended up only saving 2 and when we had them over that week we just served the two as an appetizer. They could not believe how good they are.I will never go back to Baltimore again without a first stop to Koco's. In fact, I might look for a Marriott (my go to hotel chain) as close to Koco's as possible and go there both days and maybe go to the inner harbor :)
