Good but complicated

I'll start with saying that I'd for sure stay here again. The place is more worn down and tired looking than the website pictures. "Needs a fresh coat of paint." However, the rooms were clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This is a very small town with the locals working the front desk and doing maintenance. They did not offer daily room cleaning and you had to call the front desk for new towels each day. However, the phone in our room did not work. We went to the front desk and they gave us new towels. The breakfast is not very good, but there is a restaurant right there, the Roadhouse or something like that, and they did have a good breakfast there. The hot tub did not work. COVID restrictions has hit these small towns pretty hard. The pool and hot tub just recently re-opened and they were working to get the hot tub hot again. The pool is very nice but not heated. My family is from a small town in Wisconsin so we did not have culture shock like some might in this situation. The Town of Mariposa was very nice. Restaurants and bars and some shops. Not big, but everyone was very nice. The locals like to talk so don't be afraid to ask them questions.

Bad customer service

Reviewed By Ineverstopxploring

My experience was good until they decided not to clean our room on our last day. We left the room at 7:30 am and got back at 7pm. Walking in the room that hasn't been cleaned, we immediately called the front desk but nothing could be done except sending some towels! But they never came, so we were left with no soap, dirty towels, dirty room and unmade bed. No apology, just a take it or leave it attitude. The lady at the front desk said that she will contact her supervisor for some kind of credit, but I have not heard back from them. I will give an update on that matter.

We only spent one night here I but wish it had been more. It was so quiet and comfortable. The kitchen makes it possible to have breakfast at home. There was so much room to relax comfortably, watch TV or read a book. The bed was the best I’ve slept in at a hotel in years. The staff and manager were just wonderful.

Excellent experience. Stayed 4 nights in a airstream with other family members in an adjacent tent. The club house is awesome. Pool is perfect. Camper and tent very clean on arrival. Bonfire area was perfect. One tip is bring a big cooler and food. Refrigerator is small and bonfire area has a grill so you will want to cook out. Staff very helpful and friendly. Do not hesitate to stay here.

A Bed to Sleep in

I am very budget conscious when I travel and when making reservations for a place to lay my head on, that is my consideration. I found our room comfortable, clean and warm. The warm part was important since we went in February when it was cold. It was conveniently located, walking distance to main street Mariposa restaurants and shopping. We spent the night before heading out to Yosemite the next morning. In the morning when we got up to prepare to leave, we took advantage of the free breakfast. It was all we needed.

Perfect location for visiting Yosemite park. Note : May to September, buy a pass for entrance to the park at least a week in advance. No pass, no entry! Pleasant stay

Reviewed By GoPlaces16006

We’ve been visiting family and friends in Mariposa for decades and consider ourselves right at home here. Since we always stayed in homes, we were delighted when the opportunity arose to stay at the RRI. We spent 8 days at this historic Inn while attending a family wedding. Our stay was most pleasant and the housekeeper attentive and helpful with our requests. Most important, the bed was super comfortable and very clean. Loved the quaint blackboard with our name and room assignment. Location perfect for walking anywhere downtown. Very quiet neighborhood. Other occupants friendly, & quiet. Breakfast every morning at Stix a definite plus. Thank you, Stephanie and Keith

Not horrible at all. But still some changes to make.

First of all, the guy at check in was extremely kind and helpful. He gave me ideas of where to go for dinner and gave advice about where to park for the concert we were there to see. He had a map for me, and when we came in from the concert, he came to our room to get the AC running. Down side was waking up. The curtains really need to either be replaced or at least clipped in the middle with a clothes pin or something. I had the blinding early morning sun blasting in my face and had to cover my head with the blanket. There really needs to be 4 pillows on the bed. Every other hotel does. And I agree with the lady who wrote the review about the sheet. When I woke up this morning, I saw that the sheet had crawled off the corner of the mattress which sadly, had no mattress pad on it. I really think you should invest in mattress pads and new sheets. I don't know if it's against code for not having a mattress pad, but it ought to be, in my opinion. The bathroom set up was a bit odd, with no place to hang things or a soap dish for soap. But it wasn't a deal breaker. I don't think getting some hooks installed would be hard. The thing I really liked was the amazing muffins in the morning. And the juice was good. My husband told me the guy running the office in morning was ignoring guests who were requesting coffee so he could count out change. I didn't see this because I was still upstairs, shielding my eyes from the blasting sun. I probably would stay here again, just because the man who checked is in was so professional and helpful.
