Good campsite
Reviewed By StationrdwestWe have just come back from staying at the campsite. The manager was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The site and facilities are clean and well maintained. Great walks and rides around the lake and of course, great access to Angers. Would love to go in the Summer with the pool open and get out in and on the lake.

Beautiful and peaceful lodges
Reviewed By KarolienR11We spend 2 nights in a very nice lodge: the room was spacious and very nicely styled. All comfort was present and the rooms were very clean. Ideal for a digital detox as 4g is limited and no WiFi of Tv is available which only adds to the romantic atmosphere of this venue. The surroundings are great and with only a 20min drive to Saumur you can rejoin civilization at any time. The owners are very nice and outgoing, the breakfast delivered on your doorstep is a nice extra. Big chance we will go back in the future!

La Fortinerie is a small CS/CL type campsite with a little touch of comfort. A place to wind down the jacks, break out a bottle of local wine and relax under the caravan awning or tent. You can choose to stay in your own caravan, motorhome or camp in a pitch of your choice. We welcome units of all shapes and sizes on our level lawned acre and a half.

A vegetable garden, fresh herbs free of charge, a fire pit, a Nice bbq area,… Julian and Tina are wonderful people with a worderful project here on the french countryside.

A super campsite!
Reviewed By Orlagh_mcgWe stayed here for six nights in August 2020. If you need a little campsite that has something for everybody then this is the one! The castle of Montreuil-Bellay overlooks the Thouet river. The campsite is nestled at the foot of the castle ramparts, on the bank of the river! It is an idyllic location! The town is quaint with cafes, boulangeries and a supermarket all within walking distance! We went cycling as a family to Saumur for the day via the voies vertes. Myself and my daughter enjoyed the cafes. The river is more suitable to fishing than swimming and my husband’s slight disappointment at this was erased when he bagged a 1.4m long catfish! The staff could not have done more for us! They were friendly, efficient and very welcoming!! Many many thanks to Clement and the team! We will be back! Kind regards Orlagh

Not as advertised!!!

Pizza/restaurant shut until further notice, we were not informed before travel and had been relying on this especially on our first night after 9 hours travelling. We had no provisions and last minute had to navigate the local town to buy food....quite stressful after a long day. River side camping pitch is not as picture, actually not riverside at all....just a view. When we checked in we were told to take any pitch other than the premium one we had booked and paid for !!!! The walk/cycle track to the loire valley is sign posted but not actually ready to use as still over grown. Very disappointing, our first visit to France and hutopia....we are moving along the valley and have pre booked another hutopia site near chambord let's hope this one is better and not as disappointing!!!! Below are pictures of the bar and restaurant not stocked or staffed and unlikely to open soon or during our stay, according to the check in/empty essential shop staff ...who by the way actually tried to charge me more for the one item i bought than it said on the shelf price!!!!!! And its a saturday night in April prime tourist season!!!!! 9.15pm .

Reviewed By Estelle BNous nous y sommes arrêtés pour 1 nuit, tarif correct 14€ pour 2 pers. + VAN+ branchement électricité. Camping très simple et paisible (ce que nous recherchions!) Accueil agréable, sanitaires propres, par contre wifi très faible... Si l'occasion se représente, nous nous y arrêterons.
