We ate in the Cafe which is separate from the Inn (Brenda the owner) was very friendly and accommodating . The menu both breakfast and lunch was varied and delicious . As it is a food dessert in the area we were very pleased to find this gem.

Quaint tiny cottage!

Reviewed By kimhR9707ZD

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days while we explored Bar Harbor and Acadia. We stayed in the tiny purple cottage. It is tiny! The decor is cute and fit right in for our vacation. No housekeeping, which is fine. I do wish they left extra towels. I’m sure they would’ve brought them if I asked!! About 40 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia. The town of Ellsworth is close. Some good restaurants there. It’s really nice to park right in front of the cottage and unload

Dirty, no masks, overcrowded

The beach was dirty and overcrowded. No one walking around was wearing masks. Honky took area- stay away. We stayed at Grand Victorian Suite 305. It was right over the restaurant where everyone was partying until very late. It is quite rundown.

Quiet Place

Reviewed By Deb M

Discovered this nice lodging option close to the Acadia Visitor Center. Nice views of the mountains. Small quiet property. Owner was friendly and helpful. Slightly musty smell in the room when we arrived but cleared out with open windows. The kitchenette was adequate. The pool looked nice and was clean but the weather was too cold to swim.

Perfect Location and very comfortable room.

Reviewed By victoriak2545

Spent a week with my husband and 2 grown children. We all had a wonderful time and commented on how lovely our accommodations were, as well as the perfect location steps from the perfect beach. Our room had 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen. The living and dining areas were spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large with a washer/dryer. Parking was nearby and we visited many nearby locations of interest, including an animal refuge with my first ever Moose!!! Would recommend the Sea Star to my friends and family. And don't let me forget the beautiful view of the ocean from our windows.

Ski Weekend

Rented a condo with 2 friends. This was my first time with Ski on Ski off and it was a great experience. For the price, the location can't be beat. Worth noting this is really great place to stay if the highlight of your trip is skiiing, otherwise stay someplace off mountain with a bit more space.

Sunrise Condominiums

Great location, but could be better.

Reviewed By jgkvcruz

We stayed at the SR condos now for 3 years straight and this what I came up in terms of a review. The Pros: Location, location, location. Every single one of these condos have a excellent location, right next to the South Ridge Lodge. Big ample parking, and a short drive to everything Sunday River has to offer. $$$$ you cannot beat the price of ski and ski out that you get from this place. Especially if you are skiing with families or small children. Plus you pretty much ski for free when your stay at this location. Also, service such as guest services, maintenance and housekeeping it's pretty good. Again, nothing extraordinary but just very humble and polite crew. The Cons: The overall facilities are VERY dated. This time we stayed at room A126, and it was very nice with modern TV and wifi. But other the times we have stayed at different apartments, and you feel like you're stuck in the 90s. The game room seems like stayed frozen in time (90's again). The pool area is ok, not bad but nothing to brag about. In conclusion, although this facility it's not super fancy or modern, the price you pay with the convenience of accessible prime time Ski, makes it a very attractive option for families or groups. You need to take in consideration that they can do much better, but considering that every unit it's privately own, makes it very difficult for the management of the resort to oversight every apartment looks and overall appeal. But I personality will be staying there sometime in the near future, as I don't think that anything else beats it overall. If you're looking for a down to earth please, with not a lot of fancy, plus great location at a very reasonable price, then this is a place to go.

Cascades Condominiums

Not worth it!

Reviewed By 45stephan

I live in Maine and ski at Sunday River often. Two weekends ago, we rented a condo for 2 nights at the Cascades, an on slope lodging. The price was peek season at over 500 for the stay which I expected having arranged it last minute but what I didnt expect was a broken TV, mildew smell, substandard mattress, incredibly annoying sno cat noise under my window all night and a porch screendoor the banged loudly every 10 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG in the vacant condo next door. Management on site tried to fix the TV but couldn't help me with any of the other issues and when I complained to the upper management about the issues, I was told either it was not their fault or else no one else had ever complained of these issues. Ultimately after arguing with them over the phone for 30 minutes and threatening further action, I was finally granted a significant discount. That fact, alone, made me rate this two stars not one. But boy was this place a disappointment. I will never stay there again.

Terrible

Reviewed By dstomer7

We requested an early arrival which was approved. Upon arrival we were met by an aggresive staff saying that an early arrival wasn't approved even though we had the emails. After entering the pool, we were told that we had to leave because we didn't "sign in" even though a family of 3 didn't sign in. The staff then harassed us by staring into our windows after we were told we have to leave. Terrible.
