Luxor Bed and Breakfast Inns | Places to Stay in Luxor

The Luxor in Las Vegas is to the actual CITY of Luxor, Egypt, as marshmallow fluff is to fois gras. (We’re sure you knew that. We just enjoy analogies.) Sure, the hotel/casino in Vegas might have a beam of light visible from space, but we bet you'll find a hot-air balloon ride over the Valley of Kings much more illuminating. (Editor's note: Our list was compiled before political unrest prompted many countries to issue travel warnings for Egypt. If you're currently planning a trip to Egypt, please consider the risks and monitor your government's travel alerts.)

Lovely, quirky hotel with fantastic staff.

This is a great, small hotel on the quieter west bank of the Nile. It is delightfully higgledy-piggledy, with a very pleasant pool area. What made this hotel particularly stand out for us, though, was Mohammed. He seemed to be generally in charge and organised everything for us, from meals to guides. Nothing was too much trouble. He didn't try to sell us anything (rare in Egypt), but simply arranged everything we asked him to with a calm, friendly smile. Thank you so much to him and to Helene, who was extremely helpful with emails before our arrival there.

Staying at this hotel, it was a unique and unforgettable experience. For us it wasn't a hotel, it was a family that took care of us as a member for 4 days. They made us feel safe, respected and allowed us to spend a wonderful time getting to know luxor through different activities in which they always accompanied and guided us. We will always be grateful to each of the members of the mnemon team for their details, warmth and kindness. Everthing was absolutly perfect! Al Baeirat Hotel

On the banks of the Nile Hotel Al Baeirat is situated within a banana plantation. Like a little village it blends into the neighbourhood and is built of country-specific architecture with domed structure which is traditionally made of clay. Off the beaten track you can enjoy the silence and the egyptian style in a private and friendly atmosphere. For relaxation we are offering the whole family a wonderful swimming pool directly on the banks of the Nile. From our patio which is overlooking the Nile we are serving egyptian titbits. While sipping your coffee or drinking a cool beer you can let your eyes wander to the town of Luxor on the opposite shore and at night watch the bright lights of the incoming cruise liners. In the neighbourhood you will find numerous temple complexes, the Valley of the Kings and many more sights.

Wonderful stay

We had a great stay for 4 days at the hotel. It is on a human scale with staff always available and pleasant. The rooms are large and clean. We enjoyed the swimming pool and meals at the hotel restaurant. The only negative point is the price of the excursions but it is compensated by the price of the rooms and meals. We will definitely return to this hotel if we return to Luxor.

Luxor Palace

Average service in what should be a luxurious hotel

Reviewed By darlomaid

We. called into the Luxor Palace for a drink. The drinks are very expensive, almost £20 for a small beer and a small wine. As a result one would expect great service. The drinks were placed on the table. We were provided with some nuts which had been overrated and tasted rather burnt. The staff could not wait to get rid of us it felt as the minute we put our glass down they removed it. This was not five star service but was five star pricing. We would have stayed longer and eaten lunch if the service had been better but it was very disappointing.

Family stay in May 2022

We had an amazing stay at the Thebes Hotel. The room was very spacious, clean, tidy with very comfortable beds and all facilities including a kitchenette with a fridge, air conditioning and fan. The rooftop pool is a good size and provides relief from the heat. The very large rooftop restaurant has a fantastic view to the valley of the kings and by night is an unforgettable experience. The food and service at the restaurant are very good, we enjoyed some typical Egyptian food although international dishes are also available on the menu. The front staff desk was amazing and helped with organizing transport and day trips. The hotel is located in a quiet lane away from the noise of the city. The busy Luxor east bank can be easily reached with a short ferry journey across the Nile. In the vicinity of the hotel, there are also small local shops that are worth visiting.

Cheap but totally not worth it!

Reviewed By Anaanapaulakx

very, very noisy. I spent two nights there and couldn’t sleep properly in any of them… on the last night I was awaken at 2am, 4ish am, and at 6am due to people shouting on the corridors and windows… the place has a good location and friendly staff but you get what you pay for: very very dirty rooms, the pillow is basically a rock, and it’s very noisy at night, unfortunately. there are workers staying there when they change shifts at night, so there is a lot of men around and as a female traveler I felt a little bit unsafe. the owner helped me organize a ballon trip and the value was great, but the guided tour to the temples wasn’t a good value because the guie barely explained the sites to us, so really, not worth it as I’ve paid only because I wanted to learn about the sites!

Nile Sunrise Flats

Incredible location and apartment in Luxor

Reviewed By 439barryc

Just got home from a weeks stay at Nile Sunrise Flats, Luxor. The apartment was absolutely spotless. Bed linen and towels immaculately clean. The roof terrace offers the most stunning views of Luxor and the Nile. Staff were professional and helpful and could not do enough for us. The owner, Elnouby and his Brother Taha, went above and beyond to make our stay an incredible experience. They also were most helpful arranging tours at the most competitive rates; and even advised where to shop at the best price. We shall definitely be back later this year and will have no hesitation booking this apartment again.
