It is situated on the Ouachita River, across from the neighboring city of Monroe. The two cities are often referred to as the Twin Cities of northeast Louisiana. Its population was 13,065 at the 2010 census and it is part of the Monroe Metropolitan Statistical Area. The mayor, Dave Norris, a Democrat, has served since July 1, 1978, and was unopposed for a tenth term in the municipal election in 2014.

This is a nice cheap place for a quick meal. They have four Buffett bars to choose from although two are salad and desert. It does have some food to my liking but a lot was over cooked or just didn't have what I like, in the case with most buffet style places.

Consistency in a restaurant is sometimes hard to find. But I have eaten at Peking in three different locations. What sets Peking apart from other Chinese restaurants in Monroe is the TSO chicken. Simply the best anywhere. They are busy at lunch which means the food is always fresh and hot. You have a lot of choices and can eat healthy or pig out, whatever your personal preference is. The price, especially at lunch, is ridiculously low. You can't eat fast food for what their buffet prices are. I think I'll go to Monroe and have some Chinese.

We are new to the area and tried Hibachi Grill hoping to have a go-to oriental restaurant. The restaurant is clean, plenty of seating, large variety of food, and semi friendly staff. Unfortunately the food on the buffet wasn't up to par. Food that should be hot was warm/cold. Cold food was room temperature. Everything I tried for an entree tasted not quite right. Most of the meats were very dry and overcooked (even when in a sauce). Desserts were dried up and the cream puffs tasted sour. Blue Bell ice cream was great. Won't take family and friends there again and definitely won't recommend. We won't be back.

We eat regularly at the Tokyo Steakhouse in West Monroe. The sushi and hibachi are very good with good portion sizes. The wait isn't that long even during busy Friday and Saturday nights. No reservations and your party has to been all present before they seat you at the hibachi grill.

Good selection of items on the buffet. Everything looked fresh and tasted very good. The Shrimp Egg Foo Young was very very good. Waitress was very attentive. Good prices and atmosphere.

I drive 30 minutes to visit this place at least once a week because its so amazing. The location is small with good service. The food though, the food. Its always hot and fresh. I order the Pho (Vietnamese Noodle Soup) and its literally heaven. The fried dumplings, chicken fried rice, sushi, and adult beverages are all great! Its great for dinner or lunch after a day of shopping. MUST GO! Note: Closes between lunch and dinner - reopens at 4:30pm. Check hours before you go.
