I am reviewing the restaurant/cafeteria part of this hotel as it was the only place in the area that served excellent Spanish chocolate served with equally excellent churros. This seems to be a treat that is disappearing and it was a pleasure to become reacquainted with it. Try it: sit outside and enjoy all life in Llanes going past.

After a day out exploring Llanes and the surrounding area in the rain, my husband and I were ready for a warm cafe. It can be tricky finding places that are open between 2-5 in Spain, and Llanes in the shoulder season (April) is no different. We found this place on Google as one of the only open cafes, so ended up here by default. It has turned out to be such a gem!! We've been 2 times already and our week in Llanes isn't over yet. Drinks are nicely priced and Wi-Fi is free. Cappuccino with whipped cream is amazing and the Irlandes is strong. They have a full bar too, unsure if they serve meals (I've just seen bar food).So glad we found a nice cafe with great hours!!

I would highly recommend this hotel! We stayed in a suite of two rooms (4 beds). It's not a modern hotel but it is so clean (the sheets smell great) and has woodwork such that you know it was once a very high quality place that has been kept up and so it is still very nice. The staff are SO personable. Sra. Dulce not only greeted us and got us situated with the room and the walk around town, but also made our breakfast (not included) the next morning. Sr. Angel, gave us such good ideas for things to do in Asturias. It was a memorable stay.

El bar dónde te atienden te permite probar sus quesos denominación Vidiago. Aunque son estupendas también sus hamburguesas (perfectamente hechas y con una carne de alta calidad), y las tablas de chorizo y quesos.Además de la hamburguesa, probamos sus tres variedades de queso: de Vaca, de Cabra y de Oveja.Los dos tradicionales (Vaca y Cabra) nos encantaron (el de oveja está también bueno).El de vaca, suave y muy equilibardo nos encantó. Un queso sobresaliente. También el de cabra.Decidimos llevarnos de ambos para regalar a la vuelta de vacaciones. Y nos los prepararon al vacÃo quesucos de unos 400gr. perfectos para llevar.

My wife and I recently decided to stop for lunch in Llanes, Spain while taking a trip in northern Spain. Boy what a great surprise. This little town in located between some majestic mountains and the ocean. We stopped and had a great lunch and after lunch the Confeteria Vega caught my eye and decided to visit for a dessert. Boy, what a special treat. I met with the owner and had a lovely chat. This bakery has was established over 125 years ago and has been in the family for several generations. Once I got into the bakery/chocolate factory, everything looks exquisite and had a hard time making up my mind. The owner was kind enough to offer me a couple of samples and they were absolutely delicious. After then decided to take an assorted box of cookies. She told me that the bakery had some food critics visit the location and they call her telling her that she owned one of the top three bakeries in Europe. I totally believe her story. If you are in this area. Confeteria Vega is a must stop. You won't regret it.Thank you so much, we remember the conversation and we love that you have take your time to write a comment. It may not look much, but the service is super-friendly and the traditional local food on offer is quite fantastic.The portion sizes are excellent (especially the patatas). If they have the 'croquetas de pulpo' available you MUST try them (otherwise, stick with the local favourite, 'croquetas de cabrales').
