Not as good as we hoped
Reviewed By emilyjoyPros: clean, friendly staff (when at the desk). Well lit parking lot, felt safe. Good attempt at breakfast. Room was a great size. Keurig in room, small microwave and mini fridge. Cons: still under renovation (March 2022) so room was dated. Old everything. Some mold in shower. Room had an over deodorized smell. Bed was hard. AC made an utterly ridiculous amount of noise, no one can sleep through that. Window opens 4" but screen broken. Apparently "non-smoking " does not apply to marijuana. Hallways and often elevator reeked!!! I appreciated the hot sandwich at breakfast but was disappointed there was no milk or cream for coffee. Only sweetened non-dairy pump. Definitely missed pre-covid breakfast options! We will try one of the many other similar hotels on the street next time.

Friendly, Aging – Adequate for the Price, Location, Date
Reviewed By anne4JCBOTTOM LINE: Clean linens and great staff means I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I totally understand the lower rated reviews. The carpet needed cleaning. The sheets and duvets were worn and ready for replacement. Breakfast selections being individually packaged due to COVID didn't appeal so we went to McD's down the street. Comfort Inns generally offer better. HOWEVER, reasonably priced suites are hard to locate anywhere, let alone this close to downtown Chicago, and the current labor shortage has been blamed for far worse. (Many hotels have closed their pools and cancelled breakfast without updating their webpage to reflect it!) I challenge anyone to find better at this price and location in 2021. // P.S. My thanks to staff for having the AC already running in my room after I called ahead for late check-in <3

Good couple visit
Reviewed By MsTHampGood hotel. Enjoyed the room chosen for me. The carpet needs to be updated. Room was clean. A/C and heat worked well. Bed was comfy, but pillows were horrible. Cable selection was decent. Of course, breakfast was grab-n-go due to COVID. But the selections were good: microwave biscuits and oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc. Quiet area. Nice staff. All amenities in room were operable. Not too far from restaurants and shopping. I recommend a room near the stairs away from the elevators, if possible. Easy access to your room & no noise from elevator traffic.

ESA @ Lansing staff are some of the best I've ever encountered. Friendly, courteous and go out of their way to help with any issue they can. I tip my hat to the hiring manager and training manager. Motel 6 Chicago South Lansing is conveniently located near I-80, half an hour from Midway Airport. Visit the Sears Tower, and the Solider Field. Our modern rooms include Free Wi-Fi and a mini-fridge.
THE WORST EVER!!!!!!
Reviewed By IfItsBadIsaySoMy husband and I were passing through, on a 2 day travel by car trip and so, I wanted to find a dog friendly hotel, somewhat away from Chicago. I went online and found this Motel 6 and booked it, about four hours out. By the time we got there, the house behind the desk said all the rooms were reserved except a suite with the broken jacuzzi, and the whole extra room was unusable. The desk clerk basically told me, take it or leave it, and we were so tired we took it. This hotel must be some sort of crack house, because there were people laying on the floor on doorways, in front of doors, all over the place. The next morning, there was garbage everywhere, including empty beer and booze bottles, EVERYWHERE. The whole place was disgusting. When I checked out the next morning, I said to the gal at the desk, that, wow, for a non-smoking room, it sure stunk. She said it wasn’t a non smoking room. I was floored, as that t what I had reserved. Then, she refused to give me a discount or refund and was completely unsympathetic. If I could give this hotel a lower rating, I’d have given it a MINUS TEN!! Do what I recommend, STAY AWAY!!
