Reviewed By george DOn arrival at this beautiful restored building my wife and I received a warm welcome from the owner who was our host and chef for the evening. Proudly he explained everything on the menu was grown or reared on his farm. Our evening started with his walnut aperitif we then had the foie gras de canard served with home baked ginger bread an unusual twist but very good, We selected duck for our main course I had maigret canard whilst my wife had confit de canard both served with traditional saladaise potatoes all cooked to perfection we chose a carafe of house red 50cl (9euros) Next course was the cheese tray on which were two large pots of creamy cows cheese accompanied by fig, quince, pumpkin and orange confitures also crusty bread. We finished off with freshly picked strawberries with lashings of thick cream, not forgetting the coffee. Four course meal of a very good standard for 25 euros a head. A memorable evening would strongly recommend a visit. We went for the purpose of eating

Great Cabins in the Woods
Reviewed By JamasWiseWhile I realize this isn't the ideal location for everyone, it is magical for those who are looking for a laid back spot in the woods. If you are travelling with a group or family and want a quite location for a night or two then this is the right place for you. The cabins are very well equipped. Note there is an extra charge for bedding and towels. Mostly setup for longer stays. The owner is very nice and welcoming. The pool is the cleanest I have ever seen.

The owner and wife are genuinely nice and kind people.When I was drinking wine with bathroom glass, the owner came out to say "No, no, no!" and supplied real wine glass. The owner's grandkids visit the next day. I gave Cocoa mix to granddaughter. She was just adorable and brought us beautiful strawberries for the wine. Enjoyed every moment. We booked directly from their website. They don't accept credit card, so do many restaurants in this area. so better bring some cash with you.

Reviewed By patgi5257Le hasard a fait que nous avons eu beaucoup de chance de passer une nuit chez Fanny et Thomas. Accueil simple et chaleureux! Beaucoup de charme dans tout le bâtiment accueillant les chambres toutes différentes. Décoration sobre et raffinée. Petit déjeuner au top ! En tout points parfait, nous recommandons vivement cette adresse !

Reviewed By thierrydE4590KBQue dire ? le site, la gentillesse et l'hospitalité, la clarté et le charme des espaces, la propreté, le bon goût, la paisibilité des lieux, la chambre idéale (a-t-on évoqué l'envoûtement du lit spacieux, du matelas parfait et des draps délicieusement doux ? Un détail, mais crucial !). L'omelette aux truffes au petit déj'... Je me croyais réveillé, l'hôtesse via son omelette m'a renvoyé dans un rêve avec un grand sourire.... Et même le chien est adorable (un superbe Romagnol blanc). Quand nous avons quitté le Périgord, nous avons fait étape à Limoges (Ibis Styles). Au même prix, cela nous a semblé terriblement fade, comparativement. Si je dois faire un joli cadeau à quelqu'un que j'aime très fort, offrir un séjour aux Cèdres du Linard me semble une belle idée.
