Three-minute walk from “Takada” Station on Myoko Haneuma Line, which links “Naoetsu” Station and “Myoko Kogen” Station in Joetsu City of Niigata Prefecture and 15 minutes by car from Kamigoe-Takada Interchange. The hotel is at a perfect location where Ekimae-dori Street that extends straight from the station and Honcho-dori crossing. Various room types of twin, superior double, superior single and the like are available to meet the needs of our guests during their stay. The cafe and restaurant “Allegro”, which serves breakfast and lunch to dinner, features a popular sweets buffet at lunch with themes that change for each season. Our guests enjoy Japanese cuisine at the multi-seasonal restaurant “Myoko” that uses local fish sent directly from Sea of Japan, while overlooking Mount Myoko and the town-scape of Takada. The hotel also features conference rooms and banquet halls, while a variety of menus are available for weddings.

Reviewed By 593raymondj- background The hotel representative did mistake to charge ¥1300 yen less (not fulfill coupon requirement) when I checked in: “another manager officially acknowledged their mistake.” Action: - calling to my room! - posting memo to come to the front desk right away!! - taking about one hour at the front desk to solve the issue even in the evening !!! Question and problem - why not ask me to correct the difference in the checkout? (Seems their awful business rule) - no understanding customer’s time and how to solve issues with the customer (my hourly wage should be more than ¥1300 but even their due to their mistake) Summary and action: Although the representative accepted their mistake (coupon applied-just ¥1300), they spent about 1hour to solve an issue and keep awfully asking me to come the front desk during the stay. Why not ask when I checked out? Definitely it might be related to their unacceptable business system. It seems that the hotel employees are not understanding what the hotel business is and the concept of hospitality especially solving issues of customers Unlike their competitors like APA and Dormy-in, it is such a poor service and not well maintained hotel itself. I am not using anymore my stays chains and not recommend at all. I am also exploring any action to payback my time from their service. In the bottom line, hopefully the Covid-19 will impact on this kind of business to remind not even omotenashi, but just basic hotel customer’s very basic right.

Close to the station, decent place
Reviewed By sonyrajanThis is a really small town and this hotel is pretty big in that sense. Stayed in the annex which feels like a kilometre to walk from the reception. Internet as in most hotels in Japan is provided with the LAN cable with some of the newer hotel provided with wireless. This hotel required a seperate modem that needed to be connected to the cable of the TV. All this lead to it being cumbersome. Speed was pretty good though. Breakfast was available in the main part of the hotel and decent breakfast was available. The restaurant closes at 2100, so if you check in late, might have to look around for a place to grab a bite.

Reviewed By WhangsThe rooms are spacious for its low rate. Spacious but you can smell the old furniture. You can use the robes to take the breakfast downstairs. The menu is not that impressive -- the usual sea produce based menu of fish and seaweed. You must fix the table after you're done eating and bring the tray back to the tray rack. You should try the ONSEN (hotspring pool). This is a public pool. Nothing much to see around the hotel vicinity and after an hour's walk. It is a short drive to the quaint small town of Naoetsu where warehouse stores and family restaurants abound

Reviewed By RedSquareJapanStayed as part of a large group of touring motorcyclists. Were made very welcome, good food and good Onsen. Some minor mix ups with the room allocations but all sorted out in the end. Booking this online is a bit challenging. If their own website shows no availability you can often find rooms from other websites.

The hotel has 161 rooms with 10 floors. There are 7 non-smoking floors and 2 smoking floors. On the 1st floor there is a public bath that can be used free of charge for hotel guests, as well as a coin launderette and vending machines. There is also a restaurant for breakfast and dinner. (Closed on Sunday night. * If the next day is a public holiday, the last day of consecutive holidays will be closed.)

Reviewed By melindag386We stayed here because we used the same hotel in Mie. It was conveniently located and we did not have to find parking. There are not a lot of facilities around the hotel but there is a restaurant in the hotel so we ate dinner and breakfast here. The breakfast was included but is usually ¥1300/person. The dinner portion was a little small but the salad bar was included

Reviewed By Tsubasa0313上越市へ日帰り釣りの際に訪問。 食事は当然海鮮系がメインで,男性でも満足する量だが,今時期コロナ禍の影響で座席が減っており,座席の確保に少し苦慮するかもしれない。 日帰り入浴(大人700円/名)はとても開放感がある広さで2Fの露天風呂からは日本海を一望出来る。(檜風呂やサウナもあり) クールダウンスペースはエアコン具合のせいか,若干暑さを感じられたが,2Fの方の 大広間はエアコンもよく効いており,露天風呂の様に日本海一望の景観もある。 華やかさはないが質実剛健でニーズはしっかり満たしてくれる,素晴らしい施設だと思う。

Reviewed By Keith WVisited the Sun Plaza hotel with family and friend. The hotel is smart, very clean and tidy and run to a high standard. Dinner in the restaurant was a delight. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and efficient. Very good choice on the menu, including many options for our vegetarian. Prices are reasonable, the food is very well prepared and served in a friendly manner. A delightful experience, that we would be happy to repeat.
