Jerez De La Frontera Bed and Breakfast Inns | Places to Stay in Jerez De La Frontera

Southwest of Seville, Jerez is a well-heeled place. It’s the home of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and its famous dancing horses; if you’re on a budget or can’t be there for a formal performance, it’s worth dropping in to catch a morning training session. The other major reason to visit Jerez is to sample its most famous product—sherry. You can do this at a number of bodegas associated with the world’s best-known brands, including Bodegas Tio Pepe, The House of Sandeman, Jerez, and Pedro Domecq. They’ll soon have you knowing your amontillado from your oloroso. There’s also an Alcázar, dating back to the time of the Almohads, which features a small mosque, now the chapel of Santa María Real.

The hotel is in the centre of town. It is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The owner Virginia is charming and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast on the roof top terrace was simple and perfect

Basic but well-designed

I was just looking for a cheap place to sleep for one night during a business trip and this fit the bill perfectly. I was impressed by how well thought-out my room was, displaying much ingenuity in a small place. For example, the heating on the ceiling points at the bed, unlike in many hotels where it is near the door and goes to waste. The desk had a modern mains outlet installed right next to it in the wall, which made it easy to plug my laptop in. There was good, strong lighting right over the desk when I wanted to work, and a small, cozy lamp next to the bed for when it was time to relax. I've stayed in many larger rooms where the decisions on what to put in, and where, were not as well considered as at this hotel. The building itself is quite small, but the courtyard and hallways also showed some charm. I was literally only there for a few hours, but it made wish I'd spent a weekend there as a student years ago.

Booked to stay 5 nights end of September with friends. On arrival was handed visa receipt showing payment on credit had been taken TWO days earlier. Not standard practice and when queried receptionist with limited English was unable to explain why. When shown our rooms we began to understand why. Situated directly off of the Reception area with no external windows, no facility for storing clothes and hardly any room to move around. When ask if we could change room was told to speak to manager on his arrival later. Manager said he would try to change next day. Following day they said they would try next day but as I suffer a little from claustrophobia and had little sleep, found alternative accommodation. Our friends stayed as their room was slightly bigger and confirmed that room had been re-let the hotel refused to refund nights we didn't stay and have ignored subsequent correspondence.

This was a nice hotel with clean bedrooms and friendly staff. Myself and my husband had a car and this place had free parking which was great! We were able to walk right to the downtown area within 15 minutes. We only tried the breakfast at the restaurant which was simple but good. Our room had AC which is definitely a must in Jerez!

Wonderful staff, great room and shower, fab value !

We had a twin bed room with shower and it was very comfy! Including a tv and aircon. Really good value at 27 euros. And the staff are just excellent - so helpful ! Highly recommended, I will go back for sure Parking is a bit difficult though - you need to hunt for a street parking space, pay for a ticket to 8pm. Cheap though, about 80c an hour.

Way overpriced!

Reviewed By MC M

Although presented in a different and more positive light on the booking sites in actuality this is quite a basic hotel although the rate I paid was €150 per night. The room and bathroom are both small using basic memory phone mattresses and very minimal furniture. Parking on site at a reasonable rate. Breakfast is extra. Front desk staff were polite. The location is quite good sitting between the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art & the old town sites however not many restaurants or cafes close by so you are forced to eat in the Carlos V restaurant. *Now this was an experience: when the check was presented no prices matched those as in the menu card. When the bill was questioned I was informed that the dinner portions were larger than the menu depicted and that that was the end of it. As there was quite a language barrier I decided to let it lay and inform others of this inappropriate scam. Example a €4.00 seafood broth soup was charged at€8,50 and a braised pork dish with only fries on the menu card was €8,50 but charged at €18,00. For 2 people it was expected to pay €12,50 instead the bill was €46,00. A couple of other plates were brought out with the bread which weren't ordered at all but again language differences made it appear that it was an on the house addition such as olives coming out for free when you order a mixed alcohol drink. Quite the scam... no wonder we were the only people eating. Sorry to say I simply am not impressed and in "no way" is this a value for money property. Vicki Sydney Australia

Casa Vina de Alcantara

Concealed in a dense arboreal garden of palms, cypresses, myrtle, bay and lentiscs, lies a secret world, the world of Casa Alcantara, an exclusive accommodation only 10 minutes from Jerez airport, Cadiz, Andalucia. Here the family had their private shooting box; and on a bright crisp winter's day, they would retire from shooting partridge to indulge in the simple pleasure of a country fireside, glittering copas of cooled Tio Pepe, or amber oloroso, and a homely lunch of hot sopa de ajos, eggs from the farm hens, gently fried in olive oil, or perhaps some spinach or Swiss chard grown between the vineyards on the hills behind the house.

The place to ourselves....wonderful ?

Reviewed By Boutiquechic72

On our 3 week self-tour of Andalucia, we had 4 nights of 'outer-city' stays to rest, 2 nights here at Alcantara. We are so glad we discovered this haven, via i-escape, online. Although totally out of season, with no other guests to mix with, we loved our stay here. Our room was sizeable, with Emperor bed and marble adorned bath/shower/wc en-suite. Casa Vina is an historical home, still in the ownership of the Gonzalez-Byess (Tio Pepe) family, surrounded by vineyards and set amidst lovely gardens, furnished with beautiful antique furniture/art. In summer, the pool must be just wonderful, but too chilly for us! A walk amongst the finished vines in surroubding fields behind the house, in the Winter sun was lovely on our first day, followed by a Fino from the honesty bar. We took a trip to Jerez city itself the next day where we had an evening meal (taxi €25 every bit worth it rather than drive near the city!) which was lovely, but even lovelier to arrive back to this peaceful haven. Silver service breakfast was included and taken in the beautiful dining room downstairs, we didnt know about it, but apparently you can arrange an evening meal in advance which no doubt would be fantastic as travel out to a restaurant is at least 5k away, or all the way 20mins in a can to Jerez itself. This stay was one of more expensive, but worth every bit of that. Sadly we didnt meet an owner, but Jorgé looked after us well. We would recommend this place for sure!

Good place, shame about the walls

This a great place to stay for one-two nights in the midlde of Jerez. It is very clean but the walls are very thin, you can hear well enough the conversation from next room. Also, the locks are numeric which in itself is good, but very noisy in the middle of the nigh when people are comng back in and can't remember the code Otherwise, i was well impresed by the cleanleness of the room but it has a lack of storage and hangers are not in the best place. I would definitely recomend this place for a very short stay

More an Air B&B experience - not really a hotel.

Reviewed By SusanC656

More an Air B&B or guest house experience than a hotel. No bar or restaurant although they do offer a cold buffet breakfast and cooked eggs (but if owner is around). Located down a narrow street in a good location for a selection of bodegas and other sites. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Decor throughout is quirky with plenty of character. We were the only people staying and there were generally no staff on site other than at breakfast or when they are hosting cookery demonstrations. We managed to park outside in the owners reserved parking area but normally parking is in a public car park some walking distance.
