The Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast and Eatery

After reading reviews we decided on lunch at the Farmhouse. We understand it’s July but the restaurant was miserably hot. We asked about the soup of the day & our server didn’t know. After returning from the kitchen we were told they weren’t sure what the soup would be. I would think at noon you’d have decided on the soup you were serving. The menu described the Farmhouse Salad made with romaine lettuce, apples, pears, cranberries, cashews & chicken. The salad was not romaine lettuce but head lettuce & not one cashew. I ordered the salad without chicken & we were charged full price. We questioned our server & were told it was the same price however when she returned our receipt was adjusted. The meatloaf was average, fried potatoes tasteless, & deviled eggs okay. The home baked bread had no flavor.

Ainsley's Cafe

This was our first visit to Ainsley’s. The service was excellent - we were a group of 10 and were especially impressed how the waitress handled such a large group. She was organized, attentive and very nice. The food was good, but some of the portions were small. A couple of us ordered roasted potatoes with our meal - we received three pieces. Thinking that maybe five or six would have been more appropriate. The vegetable serving was also small. My entree was grilled catfish, and the portion was adequate. Was still hungry so I ordered peanut butter pie, and again, the portion was small, as was the cup of coffee I also ordered. Quality is good, but portions could be a little better for the price.

This place is just a biker bar. The service was horrible and it isn't family friendly at all. On top of all that its expensive.I'm Very sorry that your experience at the Ye Olde Shack was bad. However, not wrong this was my experience as well before we bought it. The Ye Olde Shack is now operating under new ownership. I urge you to give us another chance if family friendly relaxed dining atmosphere is what your looking for. We do still offer a full bar with a full menu, our menu items are homemade right down to our fries and chips. We have made a family room for smaller children and large groups. We ourselves are very adamant about the family friendly atmosphere and of course the prices. If you would give this historically beautiful restaurant another chance you won't be disappointed again.

If you want to find out, don't go to this Arby's. Ordered four medium jamocha shakes. I'm sure they had some jamocha flavoring somewhere, possibly even inside this restaurant, because you could ever so faintly taste it. But mostly they were all four just vanilla shakes.

Rileybrook Hall

What a wonderful evening at Rileybrook Hall. While we had to drive 2 hours to get there, we knew it was worth the drive when we arrived into the beautiful eclectic dining room/sitting room with a warm fire on a cold night.A beautiful peacock greeted us from atop the roof as we walked up the cobblestone path to the home. Tom and Rob are gracious and funny hosts. Tom who is 80 (he admits it) is the social director, visiting each table and sharing some of his life experiences. Rob is the chef and prepared a lovely 4 course meal, perfectly timed between courses. They do not serve alcohol so you can bring your own. I definitely want to go back in the spring/summer when the gardens are in bloom. The restaurant is very affordable but remember to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. Thank you Tom and Rob for a wonderful evening..

My sister recommended this place & she was right. Their breakfast was excellent. I had the biscuits & gravy & my husband had the breakfast bowl. The price was very reasonable. Plus this is a very clean restaurant & they were very friendly & helpful. We will definitely go back to try more of their menu options.
