I greatly enjoyed a recent business dinner at Gambas, not only because of the quality of the food, but the fact that I was able to get a few things not found often in area restaurants. Best bites of the evening were the crispy octopus. I was a little worried that this would turn out to be deep fried as in a typical Indiana place, but pleasantly surprised to find they were charcoal grilled. It was perfectly prepared with a lightly charred crust served as part of a salad. So wonderful to find octopus so far from the ocean. While not as rare, the main dish of duck was excellent. It well cooked with a nice sauce on the side. Not too heavy, but still substantial. Service was extremely high quality. We felt very well taken care of. Definitely recommend this place.

I came here with my husband on a friend's recommendation. There were only two other tables occupied at 7pm on a Saturday night. We ordered our drinks and studied the menu while we waited for our drinks. My husband ordered the chef special, lasagna with meat sauce and I ordered the ravioli with ricotta and a salad. His came with a salad and both of them were vey good. When we we're almost thru with them our waitress came over and said she forgot to ask if we wanted crumbly cheese for them. Since we were almost done we said no. After sitting there for about 10 minutes the chef came to our table and asked my husband what sauce he ordered for his lasagna because the waitress forgot to write it down. Hmmm starting to see a pattern here? So we finally get our food and both dishes were hot and very good although the ravioli was a tab on the greasy side. Anyway after we ate we waited a long time for the waiteress to come take our plates (she must have forgot about us cause she was so busy to taking to one of her coworkers.) and waited even longer to get our check. Since it was my husband's birthday I was paying so I gave her my card and we got the receipt and left. We got home 20 minutes later and that's when I realized that she never gave me my card back! I called and she said she had my card and I told her I was coming back over. When I got there the lady behind the bar asked if she could help me and I said that you have my credit card and she said she didn't know anything about that. I saw our waitresses and said said you have my card and she said yes that she forgot to give it to me. The food is delicious but when I return I'd rather have someone else to serve me I would have expected better service for the amount of people that were in there!

The wife and I really like this spot. In the past, when the Star Plaza was still across the street, Patti LaBelle and Anita Baker loved having dinner here when they were in concert. The salad, breadsticks, calamari and stuffed mushrooms are always a hit. Lately, we have been fans of the Lobster Mac-N-Cheese. It is delicious! My wife likes hers with sweet lobster meat and shrimp. The shrimp adds a nice curch and texture to the dish. Me, I want only Lobster in mine. I may sacrifice the crunch and texture of the shrimp, but I can't resist that tender, sweet lobster meat. Either choice is a great dish. For dessert, nothing tops the Black Tie Cheesecake. This is a great place with great ambiance. I highly recommend it!
