Horrible, Avoid At All Costs!
Reviewed By 800jdgI've stayed at many extended stay hotels, both in the US and abroad during my business career. This is the worst of all, and really doesn't even rate one star. The clientele are mostly homeless, there's gang and drug activity, and the amenities are non-existent. While the bed is mildly comfortable, the furnishings consist of two plastic high school cafeteria type chairs and a tv tray for a work/dining station. One towel, one wash cloth, no shampoo or soap, and the noise is off the charts. Kids roam unattended thru the halls and parking lot, screaming, banging the walls, and riding skateboards thru the dimly-lit halls. The staff appears to spend the majority of their time smoking in front of the main door, or having meet n greets with relatives, The smell of weed is strong enough throughout the hotel that a contact high is unavoidable. Some may consider that a Plus, I don't. And if one of your travel goals is to be solicited by a crack whore, then by all means, get a reservation! And the local food bank appears to make random dropoffs of semi-spoiled food, leaving the boxes in the hallways. But don't worry, the random screams, yelling, and domestic fighting will be enough to distract you from the mess.

Very Accommodating
Reviewed By Ken SWe recently stayed at this hotel again and always find the staff very accommodating even in light of the Covid situation. We were surprised that there was not a coffee maker in the room, but as soon as we told them about it, they found us one. They told us that they have been experiencing full capacity and they were trying to quickly restock some of the amenities that they were out of. This includes coffee makers. Everything else we wanted they had. You just have to ask if you don't see it. They are currently booked because they have contracts with Amazon. Evidently there are three different warehouse going up in the area and the workers stay there.

Convenient stay with a loved one in a hospital
Reviewed By cathy wThis hotel is an older facility, and is pretty much a basic hotel. Not a lot of amenities, however its clean, and easy to get to. There is a shuttle bus which can take you back and forth which was very helpful since my husband was in Methodist Hospital. Room service did an excellent job of keeping the room clean and restocking! Hotel staff were friendly, but when I told the front desk that my TV was not working, I was told they would have someone fix it. But that never happened. Maybe because I was there with the upcoming July 4 weekend, they just could not get to my room to check on it. Candlewood Inn is adjacent to Park Place, which seems to be an upscale place to stay compared to Park Place.

Super cute and freshly updated little apartment with full kitchen in a renovated older building right in downtown by the hospital. Interior public spaces were great, and the room was nicely furnished. And spotlessly clean (in fact, floor had been polished to the point it was almost too slippery). You'll be happy once you walk in and see your room.

Reviewed By Jon KYour cancelation policy during this Coronavirus event is atrocious. Big Ten Tournament was canceled to fans after 6:00pm on 3/11. I called when I got home around 9:30pm. A refund of the cleaning fee and tax on that? Really $100 and change for an event that was canceled the night before I was to go? I can understand 10-20% not being refunded. Called multiple times today with same BS response. Will never use your company again and let anyone I know to Stay Away!

Reviewed By Pittsburgh_cyclistTraveling during the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted accommodation where we could cook our own food instead of eating in restaurants and so Charwood Suites was perfect for us. Our suite was spacious with areas for sitting, eating and cooking as well as a very comfortable bedroom. The furniture was a bit scuffed but everything was spotless and the staff were great. There’s a good Walmart within walking distance but the city is around 2 miles away so you definitely need a car.
