We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and it was very busy. You order and pay at the counter and the your food is brought to you. We got chips and salsa, chimichanga, and a burrito. The food was very good and order just as we ordered. We got the chips and salsa, which was a huge basket of chips and a small dish of salsa. We asked for more salsa and was told it was $1.04 for another small dish. There was not salsa provided with the meal. The food was very good but the whole restaurant was dirty. Our first clue was the 20 or 30 flies just inside the door. The tables were clean but the floor, garbage cans, ceiling, vents and ceiling fan were gross - I am sure you could write you name in the dirt. The young lady that took our order was very nice.

The thing that most impressed me about eating at Costa Vida was the steak strips in my burrito. Sure, the tortillas and fresh and tasty as well, but the meat is excellent. It's a little pricy, but then again so is everything else in Rexburg. I'm not quite sure why the restaurants are all so expensive in Rexburg. (One exception is Pizza Pie Café, which is why they are always so busy). All in all, Costa Vida is worth trying as an alternative to Café Rio. I was more impressed with the meat at CV than the meat at CR.

Service was good, but food was bland, even the spicy sauces on the disappointing salsa bar. Stick with bottled sauces. It was authentic though. Wouldn't recommend California burrito unless you're craving a potato burrito. Out of flan, too, which was the whole reason my grandson wanted to go there.
