Came in at midday and were seated immediately; Emily, our server, brought us menus and water right away. We’re on the Keto diet so we asked Emily for assistance in modifying the fish plate to meet our needs...she was so helpful and accommodating! The food was delicious! Fish was moist and flavorful, and the veggies were yummy. The fish salad was so good—really tasty seasoning on the ahi and seared perfectly.Definitely will be back!

Born and raised on the Island and visited Kula Lodge a few times. 30+ years later and I was not impressed. Our server was far from polite or accommodating. She seemed to ignore our table quite frequently and tended to the tourist. The food portions are small compared to other competitors and not as tasty. We had to flag her down for coffee or water refills and each time she seemed agitated.Very disappointed as I have not been back home in almost a decade and we are treated as if we are not able to afford this luxury of a meal. It wasn't what I remembered it to be so no lost on my part and at least I know I won't be returning. Just a comment, it's not what it use to be so to me, no lost as I won't be returning in the future. Only positive, view outside the back of Restaurant.

We went to dinner and lunch on separate days and we could not have wished for a more enjoyable dinner & lunch. Everything that is served is to[p notch, freshest of fish always, soups( the crab soup is incredible) as are the sample soups you are given. The chocolate pie was superb, just melted in your mouth. The stuffed Mahi Mahi is a treat to behold. The setting is gorgeous, and the flowers displayed throughout are so beautiful. A must DO.

This unassuming liquor store in Makawao has a kitchen that produces a variety of amazingly good cooked to order hamburgers. They also serve up local plate lunches and oxtail soup. It is takeaway only. Be prepared to wait a while for your order as they get very busy. One may phone in the order and they will call you when the order is ready. Other than the wait, the service is very friendly and efficient.

Our restaurant choice had apparently closed down very recently. This one was in the same courtyard and became a good alternative. The courtyard alone is worth a visit. Relaxing, lovely trees for shade, etc.You order your food from a board. We weren't disappointed with either the service or quality. Prices were reasonable.

I prefer this place for lunch usually, but took a friend here for dinner. Make a reservation, which is important. We had a nice table in the main entrance area of the room. Servers was friendly. Had their great Paniolo Manhattan to start (Paniolo blended whiskey, carpano sweet vermouth, orange bitters & a luxardo cherry served with a twist of orange). Yum.A must have here is the Maui French Onion soup. Just have it! People talk about Maui onions, well the broth is great as is the smothering of gruyere cheese and croutons. Really good!My friend had the Paniolo ribs as a main course, which were very tasty though we both thought the portion was too small. The side dishes were nice.I had the Aged New York Strip steak as a main course, which was a good portion, but it was not cooked to my liking. It was blue on the bone and I asked for it medium rare to medium - certainly not blue. The meat itself looked good but was actually not very tasty at all, in fact kind of oddly bland, despite hwo lovely it looked on the outside. The sides were better than the steak, especially the mixed mushroom saute... the matchstick fries, though very yummy, were overly salted. All in all a good meal, nice table, always nice to visit there and we will be back, though the steak was a weak point of the meal. Next time I will order something else or return for lunch. Once again, we loved the ONION SOUP! It saved the experience of the meal.AlohaThank you for your review. We thank you for coming in and dining with us and we hope to see you again soon.Mahalo

We needed to stop for a quick bite on the way to Haleakala Crater. After a quick search online, this place came up and we weren’t disappointed - everything was delicious! We parents each had a pork sandwich that included an amazing pineapple slaw, and the kids (5 & 7) had the Monte Cristo and the Breakfast Croissant. While we were waiting, we were able to explore the grounds which included Maui glass blowers and the outer grounds of the distillery. This place is not fancy (it’s a blue food truck after all with small tables to eat at) BUT the taste makes up for it. Don’t miss out if you have the opportunity!!
