There are lots of good reviews for breakfast but dinner was awful. This is a Japanese tapas place with a limited menu. Breakfast can be ordered all day.The good...friendly serviceThe bad.... my husband ordered the pork and I ordered the pasta with thin strips of pork. Both meals were extremely fatty. My husband had to do a lot of cutting of the meat. Whatever strips of pork that I had with the pasta what's about 80% fat.I posted a photo of how the meal looked at the end.

This is the third year in a row that we have come back to this amazing restaurant during summer vacation. It first got our attention because of their unique feature of ube pancakes. Iâm a sucker for anything ube (ube ice cream, ube cake, ube halaya Iâm there!) so of course I needed to try this restaurant. One bite and I was in love. Why has no one thought of ube pancakes before? I was hooked. It does not stop there though. My son unfortunately has several food allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, egg). He got to eat the Simple Breakfast Combo which is not simple in any way as it is served with rice or potatoes with spam, bacon and Portuguese sausage. They separated the bread and 2 eggs that comes with the order and we got to eat them. So they are pretty good with those with food allergies.Hubby got kimchi fried rice (2 years in a row) and daughter got loco moco (2 years in a row) and of course I got ube pancakes 3 years in a row. Will be coming back again and again!

Kalapawai Cafe and Deli can easily be missed.... it is hidden along the side of Kailua Road with its small parking lot.Place your order at the counter from the posted food items. You then place your beverage order and pay your tab. There are pastries and a small bar. This visit we ordered a Pastrami on Rye.... very good.Service is friendly and efficient.

I had breakfast there on a Monday morning around 9:30 AM, and there was no wait for a table for two. The food was delicious (especially the french toast) and the portions are ample. The waiter was efficient in taking our order, but his demeanor was very aloof. I would expect friendlier service in a restaurant like this. We literally left without our waiter or the hostess saying "Thank you" or even giving us a smile. There are plenty of busy restaurants with equally delicious and inventive food where the staff are happy to have customers, so I am not sure I will be back.

$40 for breakfast for two seems pricey, even for outside of Waikiki. No question that the food was good. I had the meatloaf loco moco with fried rice (+$2.00). Spouse had an omelet with two types of meat and cheese. Salsa was extra. Service was a bit spotty on a Tuesday morning. It's been better there. But it is a popular choice for breakfast and there was a wait. Good food, usually great service but don't expect cheap eats.

Discovered Moke's by chance as we were driving around the highway. This is a nice stopping place with a good down home menu if you are circling the island. Very nice breakfast/lunch selections.

I saw their reviews and knee I was going to find out. I know if I didn't know I was looking for it , I would have passed it. It's definitely a hidden gem, but well worth it. So, to find it's location you won't forget it. Parking ..........im not sure because I parked and walked to it a few blocks away. I must say it's one of the best acai bowls I've had. Their ingredients were all really fresh and the creation was done beautifully. I also on a whim tried the cheese bread ........ was I surprised. Melt in you mouth goodness, so good my daughter went back for more. I'm glad I tried them. I was vacationing so I hate to say I can't make this a routine stop, but when I return it's definitely on my list of must haves.

This coffee shop is also the center for Hiking Hawaii, which does hiking tours all over Oahu.
We loved this little cafe located in front of the Doubletree Hotel. Itâs health focused and serves salads, wraps, bowls, and smoothies. They have kombucha on tap and avoid the use of plastic. Amazing freshness and flavors!

Nine of my family dropped in on a rainy day for great food, great service and fun staff. We loved the blueberry french toast. Eggs benedict in different varieties was also very good. It was a fun brunch.
